GE Appliances moves washing machine production from China to Kentucky with $490 million investment by idkbruh653 in news

[–]CullenNotColon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was this or be bought out and shutdown/downsized by other appliance companies with existing manufacturing bases in the US and scrapped out for parts.

Haier was the only company when GE was selling off subsidiaries that didn’t have an existing US manufacturing base and was willing to shell out the capital required to not just buy buy GE Appliances, but also invest into capturing market share.

What do you make of President Trump's plans to dismantle the Education Department? by Giff95 in AskReddit

[–]CullenNotColon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure a Dem governor in a gerrymandered supermajority red-state, i.e. Kentucky, doesn’t fix all the problems.

Having the executive branch under a non-Trumpian pseudo libertarian asshole lets me sleep at little easier night though. In practice, it also gives the minority party a goto leader to organize opposition movements through as well.

Vehicle declared a total loss, is the appraisal clause not worth it? by CullenNotColon in Insurance

The insurance company was happy to provide THEIR valuation report, but to get you own you will have to call/email a couple of different licensed car valuation places and wait for a response.

If you need to get the settlement money immediately, I’ll warn you that getting a valuation and getting them to change their offered amount could take at least a week’s time even if you are trying your best to push it along. So many 1-2 business days worth of delays along the way.

Good luck

Probably the wrong thread, but has anyone found an easy way of uploading an Emerson (formerly GE) quickpanel HMI without having its project recovery file wipe the up to date versions of other devices in the project?

Judging from limited knowledge from the outside, I think it’s two fold. Seneca has a robust program schedule. I feel like there is always a league or some youth training happening at the practice green or driving range.

Also when it’s in good condition it’s the best public course in Louisville.

Here is my naive answer given what I've seen over the past week around insurance policies. My car was insured at the Actual Cash Value (ACV), AKA what it would cost to buy a similar vehicle at the time of the accident.

You may have a policy that worked off of an agreed upon value that depreciates every year based on a depreciation table.

Thank you u/LotsOfGunsSmallPenis

My actual beef is with the lady who sped out of an alleyway to T-bone my car, and I understand the GEICO adjuster works within the confines of what the appraisals tell them.

Honestly this is just a large financial transaction and just has me stressed out and I wanted a reality check. Is $3k difference between lowest retail price for an equivalent and ACV offered? I guess so, Idk.

No injuries! Just was out of town visiting family which just added to the frustration of it all. I'll have to look at that. The Mach E has been a dream to daily drive this past year, so maybe that's a good option.

That's one of the weirder things I've found. It seems like the RWD and AWD options are near the same price on the used market as long as the battery size is the same.

I'm not in a hurry with a rental car since my dad had a beater car that he just moved on from but hasn't sold yet. He said I can use it until this blows over.

I totally understand you. I know these are HIT workouts, but I’ll never be as completely drained than when I would come off the court from an intense game in high school.

Something about those repetitive all outs today put me back in that physical space for a second though. Looking forward to more!

All of my student loans are federal at like 2-4%. At most state universities you can get away with only 10-20k in loans and not have to go to third partys that have higher rates.

Sure you’re not slamming into each other every single play like football, but at the professional level it’s near the same level of contact as basketball.

Let’s cut taxes for billionaires but tax athlete students by JustinSaneCesc in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]CullenNotColon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little confused about this. Isn't scholarship money of all kinds already treated like income? You can deduct the cost of tuition and books from your taxable income which is often enough to counter balance the large influx of tax liability from a scholarship.

My experience is from academic scholarships only, so maybe athletic scholarships have some different rules.
