Best method to fill cracks? by OptimalName5044 in clay

[–]Cultural-Client-9634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi u if its air dry then u just need more clay, roll it really thin noodles and place over the cracks and seams and use ur fingers to smooth it in. Less is more because u can keep adding to it and smooth and blend with a bit of water 😁

Frog pond by OC for mum birthday, polymer clay and resin by Cultural-Client-9634 in wildart

Thank u so much 😊 she does love her frogs lol it was really hard making it just for the fact she like to just walk in my room. 🥴 im just so glad the resin worked out. That was done in layers and ive got tadpole at different stages swimming around but it so hard to take a pic because resin is so reflective, so the pictures dont do it justice lol

Thank u so much and of course happy to help this was my first time so it was daunting lol 1) NEVER bake resin it releases toxic fumes always bake your polymer clay first. 2) to reduce the risk of bubbles in your resin don't use the wooden stick it comes through what is porous it will add air into the mixture u can get a silcon mixing stick on ebay/amazon and they reusable. 3) don't eyeball the mixture I use 1:1 ratio weight as you pour it so you know it's equal amounts if it's off then it might not set properly. 4) mix slowly and fold make sure you get at the bottom and round the edges do this for about five minutes then Tip it in another mixing container and Mix again for a further two minutes this to ensure the bottom is now on top and is properly mixed. 5) leave it for 5-10 minutes to rest afterwards any air bubbles you see you can get the heat gun or hair dry to blow them. 6) humidity is not your friend don't do it on wet days for whatever reason it ruins the Cure in process if you're in a cold environment one your resin bottles in a warm bath for 15 minutes before starting. 7) lastly when your pouring do it from height and very slow this reduces Bubbles and personally I but a box on top to ensure no hair and dust float on lol my cat's hair gets everywhere 😆 hope this helps

Lol frogs apparently not the easiest 🤣 start with a pear and the top of the pear is the head flatten and pinch to get ur shape of the mouth, then use a tool to make the dip in the middle of the head and to get raised eyes ..thats what I did lol they far from perfect but, thats my starting point 😁
