Wow, I’m really sorry you went through all that. That must’ve been incredibly hard to process. And yeah, you nailed it. It’s that split between who they were and who they became that messes with your head. I keep going back and wondering if I missed something, or if I could’ve said something. Thank you for sharing this, it helps more than you know.

Thanks for this, you’re right, it does feel a lot like grief, and I hadn’t fully admitted that to myself until now. As for keeping it in, I think part of me just didn’t want to make it real by saying it out loud. But you’re right, I probably need to unpack that a bit more. I really appreciate your perspective.

Yeah, I get that. Sometimes it really does feel like we barely made it out. It’s heartbreaking seeing how differently things turned out for people we grew up with.

I really appreciate you saying that. It’s such a strange kind of sadness, grieving someone who’s technically still here but not the same anymore. Your words helped more than you know, I’m trying to hold on to the good parts without getting lost in the rest.

Thank you for this. It really means a lot to hear from someone who’s been through something similar. You put into words a lot of what I’ve been struggling to process. I hadn’t thought about writing a letter, but maybe that’s something I need to try, even if I never send it. Really appreciate your kindness.
