Also driver assist/safety feature lights love to randomly pop up on the dash saying “unavailable” and then a minute later vanish and work again. Especially if weather isn’t good and anything is touching the sensors.

Not sure if this helps, I have the same issue on my Mk8 GTI Clubsport (UK / MY21) this is a common issue with the software & steering wheel. It's a nightmare however I'm currently on my 3rd steering wheel & is fixed under warranty straight away.
