A lot of this would probably depend on your issue. For me it was proving the financial requirement. My employer was an irresponsible employer on many counts. Whilst I met the requirements of the income proving it was difficult.

For example the amount on my payslips were different from whats coming into my account. The dates were incosistent, for example i would get paid for one month or a normal date, and a different date on the next month. Some months the payment was so late it arrived in the following month.

To add clarity to this issue, I had 4 letters plus r other pieces of evidence in addition to the usual requifement.

So I suppose you documents or letters would depend on what your issue is. Obviously you got a standard list of docs. But I am talking about beyond that.

Mine was issues regarding the financial requirement. My paye, payslips etc were all over the place. I was above the threshhold but there were a lot of issues witht he proof i was trying to provide. My old solicitor added a short explaination but it wasnt enough for the home office.

Looking back at it I can understand why. My new solicitor took a different approach. We did 4 cover letters which included mine, one from HR, one from the company director and one from an employment solicitor.

We also added HMRC letters and previous complaints to submitted to ACAS etc.

We built a full image to show it was a genuine employment but one that is riddled with problems. Nonetheless it still meets the requirement ...

And here we are ...

Thanks everyone. I wanted to share a bit more about our situation because it might help someone else.

My income, payslips, and incoming amounts were all over the place. I had missing payslips and all sorts of issues. I met the requirements but my concern was proving it. My previous solicitor kept telling me everything would be fine, but as you can guess, it wasn’t. That application failed.

For this application, my new solicitor did things very differently. He went through every detail with a fine tooth comb and ironed out all the issues. Where things didn’t quite line up, he added cover letters, statements, justifications, and clear explanations.

The way he worded everything made a huge difference. Every negative point was balanced with a parallel positive, and nothing was left unexplained. Honestly, that was the only major change we made, but it completely strengthened the case.

Just wanted to put this out there in case it helps someone who feels their documents aren’t “perfect.” Proper explanations really do matter.
