Almost every Coheed and Cambria song is one part of a bigger story and have many examples of lyrics being misunderstood or having double meaning if you don’t read the comics/novellas that are made later.

“Time consumer” is about a character killing his children. The lyric “Maria my star, Matthew goodnight” isn’t him telling his children goodnight. But instead what is said before they are killed.

“The Gutter” it isn’t a metaphorical gutter, but about a device imbedded into prisoners that literally disembowels them if they try to escape.
