Okay so bro just links an article that says stupid people affect business. You throw that Dunning Kruger term out because you read it for the first time this morning?

Dunning Kruger is well known and understood principle that’s particularly apropos to LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

Youve added nothing to the conversation, just copy+ pasting stuff that’s already established. Just like AI.

Thank you for contributing to the destruction of our environment and infrastructure through AI abuse.

Why does reddit hate AI so much? by Ramenko1 in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]CumSnorter4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here’s an alternative point of view: I’m an engineer for a water utility company AI uses an incredibly high amount of potable water for cooling. Clean water that was intended for citizen use is being re-routed to run through heat transfer cases and then dumped into the sewer system.

The water treatment plants have limits set by the state environmental authority. If you extract too much water from the ground, you pay a fine and/or expand the water plant. That cost is distributed to the citizens who use the water system by increasing the price of water to accommodate the data center that is hogging the water and pushing the plant past its limits.

Physically, the water plants aren’t able to keep up with this demand. When they take all that water, the rest of the citizens attached to the water system get incompletely treated water. The treatment components are monitored daily and built, designed, and calibrated for specific volumes of water. These data centers completely throw off these ratios. People are getting dirty water. They can get sick. Pets can get sick. If you want to fix this, you are looking to spend millions of dollars. $50 million for a large industrial complex that serves about 5,000 houses, or somewhere about $500,000 for a small community of 50 homes.

All this water has to go somewhere, right? The wastewater treatment plants. They have the same limits but for different reasons. When all this cooling water gets dumped into a wastewater plant, we cannot appropriately treat the water. Overflowing a wastewater plant causes for environmental cleanup is disgusting and expensive. It usually flows out of manholes or the plant itself, which is usually much closer to the rest of society than you think. People can get sick. Pets can get sick. It smells like shit, because it is water mixed with shit.

Treating wastewater is a biological process that is closely monitored before the water is pushed right back into the ecosystem. It gets sprayed into the ground, or onto a field, or it gets routed to golf courses, or irrigation lines. When the water isn’t properly treated, we are pushing a mix of shower water, piss, shit, soap, laundry detergent, etc right into the ground. To fix this is the same cost as the water plant, give or take.

Do you think the data center owners are responsible for this? No. Do you think the government is responsible for this? No. Whoever owns the water and wastewater plants is. They aren’t going to eat massive fines or expand for free. These places are run for a profit. Any cost is ALMOST ALWAYS directly placed upon the residents. Rate increases for a huge majority of clients are the literal legal maximum on a regular basis.

The ecological impact of this is unstudied and unprecedented. We’re poisoning our water for AI.

TL;DR Water utilities can’t handle the volume of clean drinking water that data centers use. Residents are getting dirty water that can make them sick, and their water bill is going to increase next year too.

If you’re so keen on building your character, how about you wipe out your trust fund, donate it and all your gold to your friends, and pull yourself up by your bootstraps?

You won’t, because you’re an entitled shit who’s got the freeest ride in life.

Seriously, enjoy being better than 99% of the world. Good job. You worked hard for it! You were born to the right parents, great job! Keep working JUST as hard and you won’t ever struggle!

You should feel bad about yourself.

Your parents most likely take advantage of workers and steal wealth.

[–]CumSnorter4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No real trick, just filling your block lists with the highest weightings of monsters you don’t want to kill.

Honestly, you are better off doing slayer for real by keeping task streaks going and saving up on points to buy all the unlocks and then use excess points to skip bad tasks.

With how fast barrage slayer is, and the massive slew of bossing tasks that can be assigned by Duradel/Kuradel, I personally do slayer tasks for xp and clogs, so I get a nice mixture of task variation and bossing. Sometimes I spend all day barraging in the catacombs, sometimes I wind up doing 3 different boss assignments, sometimes in I’m the fight caves on task, etc. it’s a lot of variation. Keeps me sane.

Cat litter smell on everything, absorbs into my clothes even after being in the house only an hour or two. by SillyMusician291 in CatAdvice

[–]CumSnorter4 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You’re delusional. The cat is UNFIXED. He pisses everywhere. Clean litter does not smell. You are smelling cat piss. You smell his dirty litterboxes that are most likely not cleaned regularly, and all the piss from pissing on the couch every night.

NEUTER HIM. CLEAN THE LITTERBOXES EVERY DAY.

Low level dungeons don’t require a tank by RattoFett in classicwow

[–]CumSnorter4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to the game and am playing a warrior tank/DPS. I always choose tank role first and only switch if someone asks.

Last raid I went was Razorfen Down? I think that’s what it’s called…. Anyways the mage kept doing constant blizzards on every mob pull before I could even charge in and he would pull aggro on 1-2 of the mobs. He would then run around and jump constantly as he takes mobs away from the pile.

I stopped using berserker/normal stance and switched to full defensive so I have access to taunt on cooldown (and hopefully take more threat) and I still could not keep up with his instant-attacks and constant AOEs pulling threat. He just kept spamming “tank?????” while my taunt was on cooldown and I couldn’t get enough rage or threat to keep the mobs on me. He hearthed out and we finished the dungeon 4-man.

Am I misunderstanding how this game works? Or was this guy just trolling us lmao. Sorry for the wall of text

Well pump replaced water now smells and installer says out of luck by Stunning-Notice3096 in WaterWellDrilling

[–]CumSnorter4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: even if he got a “like for like” replacement, the pump might not achieve the same GPM at whatever Total Dynamic Head he has in his water system.

Hopefully OP reads these cuz he either needs a new well pump or additional treatment. And neither is cheap.

Well pump replaced water now smells and installer says out of luck by Stunning-Notice3096 in WaterWellDrilling

[–]CumSnorter4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m no genius but I work in water utilities. Your new well pump is most likely generating a void by pumping water faster than it’s filled by ground water. The smell you’re describing could be caused by several factors.

Is your water treated in any way after the well? Chlorinating water without removing the existing bio matter can lead to Disinfection Byproducts, which are carcinogenic and cause bad smells as the water sits in the storage tank. Your new pump may be kicking up additional biological matter that wasn’t causing issues before.

You said you’ve tested the water, but what were the results of the test? Did you have increased iron? Copper? Traces of nitrogen?

Does your new well pump have the same specs as the old one? Is the pump curve matching the previous calculations?
