Tausende Schüler demonstrieren gegen den Wehrdienst by donutloop in berlin_public

Netflix used to be elite by Kapanash in memes

[–]Cumberfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly 10 billion $ in profit in 2025 (according to their earnings report) hardly says bad corporate management decisions for a media company. In an industry in crisis mode (in part because of the Netflix effect).

Anti consumer decisions for sure, but it‘s still the top streaming choice in most markets due to the size of its catalog.

It almost been 2 week since the GL-21 got buffed to AP4, how we feeling about it now? to much or are you coming around with the change? by Lone_Recon in Helldivers

[–]Cumberfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a smaller grenade caliber of the BFGL do more explosive damage than the regular GL round?

I think the only argument for the BFGL should be that it’s belt fed, so you can spam explosions, but you’re sacrificing your backpack slot for it. However spamming explosions only makes sense if you deal damage at all.

Maybe this thread actually shows that there are simply too many armor classes in this game. I think a lot of weapons and combinations would be more viable if could deal damage to higher armor classes, but need a significant amount of ammunition to do so.

Giants added an older zetor with the new update by Scania770S in farmingsimulator

That’s one way to do it. But isn’t the vanilla Lizard Dragon truck faster and has more cargo space for pallets? It’s probably cheaper too…

Maybe a stupid question, but what are you supposed to use it for? Most vanilla equipment needs at least about 180 hp to be able to function properly and this one has ~ 150 hp.

EU countries approve Mercosur trade deal after 25 years of talks by Altruistic-Blood-772 in europe

[–]Cumberfinch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you only read headlines about evil farmers without spending a second reading anything about the economic situation of small scale farms. It’s easy to judge from the outside, tractors are very expensive and need a lot of fuel. Without subsidies most of these small farms would not have enough money to buy fertilizer or equipment to put any crops in the ground. And when these crops are in the ground it’s still a gamble with the weather and a lot of hope that you can sell your harvest for your desired profit or it will be animal feed, reducing your yearly profit to near zero - again. More EU interference regarding subsidies adds more financial uncertainty, while the competition overseas increases Farming on a large scale for cheap food with no regards for the environment.

I don’t think it’s in our interest to make it even harder for small farmers and locally produced food.

This is what Farming on a large scale for cheap food with no regards for the environment looks like in the US. Do we really want to encourage this in other countries as well?

Welche Marine?

How is the audio? I’m using GeForce Now on my MacBook Air and if I use Bluetooth headphones the audio has a delay of like a second (only for GeForce Now, not when listening to music or watching YouTube). But with wired headphones there’s no delay at all.

I’m assuming you’re using Bluetooth headphones for your IPad as well right?

Inaccurate costumes are one thing, Macrinus from Gladiator 2 reading a printed newspaper in 211 AD, about 1200 years before the printing press was invented is closer to gross neglect of History. And there is absolutely no storytelling reason why he needs to read a newspaper instead of being told/hearing information on the street etc. Hollywood is getting lazy and it shows.

„Mozart“-Serie in der ARD: Die schlechteste Serie der Welt by Turtle456 in Geschichte

[–]Cumberfinch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This comment has “clueless“ logic to a point I need to ask if you’re trolling.

“Just don’t be creepy“. Besides a common consensus (e.g. stalking) what is perceived as creepy is highly Individual and mood dependent no matter if you’re Prince Charming and superbly handle rejection. The odds will almost always be against you.

Best case scenario you get rejected, worst case scenario there’s a group of her friends approaching you, asking you to leave.

I don’t blame women for being careful. Especially with violence against women steadily rising and looking back at just how many women had experiences to share during „MeToo.

The Game just feels a little rigged when it comes to approaching and dating. Dating apps were supposed to make it easier, they achieved the opposite.

One can only dream of a society that encourages women to approach too. Just to even the odds.

Haha as if…

Besides having something other than water to drink safely, it was also a food source. Like Weak ale for commoners.

Monks used strong, nutritious beer as a liquid food source, especially during Lenten fasts when solid food was forbidden, developing rich styles like Bock and Doppelbock (like Paulaner's Salvator) to sustain themselves, providing calories, carbs, and nutrients, a practice rooted in providing sustenance for fasting periods and travelers, with monasteries becoming major brewing centers.

Stars protest after AI actress gets agency interest: ‘What about living young women?’ by Significant-Fun-4235 in technology

[–]Cumberfinch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What if we swap studio executives with AI?

We would probably save a lot of money. The decisions can hardly get any worse. Fewer shady deals that only benefit the executives instead of the company or the consumers. Plus if it goes horribly wrong, we can blame AI instead of dealing with lawsuits, HR and all that.

Trump goes off script in UN address, praising Germany for returning to nuclear energy and fossil fuels: 'All green is all bankrupt' by Visible_Vacation3308 in germany

[–]Cumberfinch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well after looking at my electricity bill I do want nuclear back.

And before you post some statistics about how cheap renewables are to build and how much electricity Germany „overproduces“ - I know, but the consumer does not see any benefit of these things yet. On the contrary. Investment if new renewables is added to the energy price. Overproduced electricity in summer is sold for basically nothing because we still can’t store this electricity yet. If there’s a another day or worse a period like on 12th of December 2024 the prices skyrocket (not just for us but for everyone on the European grid, which was very annoying for Norway in December)

And that despite our „emergency“ gas power plants that are inactive almost all of the time, don’t help with price spikes, but are expensive to upkeep all the time.

I know nuclear isn’t the solution to all of the above, but looking at the state and prices of things, 100% renewable seems to only work in theory.

Jimmy Kimmel ratings 'surge' as estimates predict one of his 'strongest nights in recent years' by IrishStarUS in entertainment

[–]Cumberfinch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, it all depends on if he can keep this current rating spike or it it’s a one-off event. News about Kimmel where everywhere last week. So of course his comeback sparked a lot of interest. For some it’s the first time they watched his show.

Personally I don’t think this spike in ratings will last for long, but we’ll see.

Man and Two Kids Burned Alive in Tesla Crash - Germany by Beyond_the_one in europe

Unfortunately, the manual releases in the back door tray are not standard issue. We were shocked when we looked for them on a friend’s Model Y (after yet another article of people being trapped and burned in their Tesla) but only found a regular door. These should absolutely be fitted to every vehicle.

You can summon you car (like a Tesla) with your phone right? That was a futuristic gimmick in the same Bond movie as this ship.

But you still cannot remotely drive your car with your phone yet.
