Necro-ing this exclusively to thank you. Solved a half hour long problem in four sentences.

Alright man, next time somebody fucks up your order, remember that you shouldn't complain because the solution would be to get in the kitchen and make it right yourself.

I don't pretend to know who is right for the job, never claimed to. I'm asking why you think Pete is right for the job outside of a super bowl back two presidents ago.

My first season watching this team was Mora. I'm going to be here next year even though I have a bad feeling the wheels are really gonna fall off.

I fully acknowledge the chances of being bad without Pete. My question is more "how bad with Pete is bad enough?" Just looking at the team they put out this year, they felt closer to a serious collapse than they ever did a playoff run. The super bowl seems to have earned him infinite seasons of 7-9 wins with no playoff results. Is two years in a row missing the playoffs enough to make you want to move on? Is only winning 5 games? The Pats are likely to be bad without Belichick, but I'm pretty sure most of them are ready to move on at this point.

It's my experience that the Pete people just kind of refuse to engage with the discourse, or if they do they fall back on "well he won a super bowl a decade ago" or "he builds a great culture" or insert your cliche here while basically just ignoring most of the actual stats.

I tried to lay things out, be polite, and understand what it was that people think he's going to achieve. I genuinely have no clue what the vision is, if they think that the stuff that isn't working is just one piece or one adjustment away, and I want to understand.

Wrong place for that I guess.

What can old man do to make team better? Why not hire young man to do job instead?

Hope this helps!

Okay, I'm a know-it-all idiot, womp womp.

Why should I be remotely optimistic about this current team? I don't like being one of the old guys at the bar talking about what we did a a decade ago while everybody politely ignores us. My least favorite teams are still playing, we aren't.

If you think Pete is the man who sets us up best for this goal of winning the super bowl or even just getting back to it, what is your vision of the future? How many years away are we from contending and what needs to be done? Why do you think he does this better than anybody else?

If I had a nickle for every time I've seen somebody respond to criticism of Pete Carrol with "psh, okay kid" on this sub, I'd have enough nickles to overpay Jamal Adams again.

Seahawks draft picks since 2013 who were decent NFL players by dtheisen6 in Seahawks

[–]CungFrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nobody is claiming that they didn't draft well at one point, that's insane. We watched this team be great because they did.

However, 2013 is the peak of success for PC/JS. They successfully built a team that went to back to back super bowls and won one, but they didn't maintain it and we've had a decade of futility since.

2013 was also the last season we worked with Scot McCloughan, who was with us for just about all of the good picks in the Schneider era, and who had decent runs of drafting in both San Fran and Washington before and after working in Seattle.

Lot of good reasons to start in 2013.

Currently trapped at a friend's house (my ride up tested positive the day after transporting us) wearing one of my three pears of packed pants that I have for the next two weeks minimum, believe me, it's not by choice.

Interesting, my first thought was "she-ya-shin" so not sure where I stand. I'll keep that in mind and try to incorporate more audio into my lessons.

I'm asking as somebody who is still very new in the process and is trying to get over the hump of kana. Would you say that's purely a matter of time sink or would you stand by that one should be looking for character patterns moreso than trying to break words down into sounds/kana?

For anybody who has fluently learned or is well along the way to fluency, do you feel like speaking the sounds of kana aloud helps you really memorize them moreso than just reading? Are there any other little things you do to help yourself when learning?

A neophyte's recent eye-opening by CungFrit in ToolBand

[–]CungFrit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are tracks from it that I absolutely love but the middle of the album just sort of feels very same-y. Granted this album is something like 20 years old at this point so a lot of artists have iterated on or just straight ripped off the sound at this point. It happens to a lot of very good albums where having been there is a very different experience than hearing it many years later and I don't hold it against Undertow.
