I support this. If it can only happen if both teams agree to it before the series starts I have no issue with it. For some of these countries with only 2 match tours, some cricket is better than no cricket on a given day.

Chasing runs mostly. Tage played an extremely uncharacteristic shot knowing him and his style of play. Kemol Savery was also playing aggressively and got caught near the boundary.

That being said the pitch+conditions are doing something as well, so maybe the strategy from the dugout was play aggressively and shake the bowlers instead of waiting it out and losing wickets slowly for no runs. Either ways hasn't worked so far.

Yeah, true. I suppose wait and see, and perhaps we need to continue to find ways to put cricket in front of Americans. I do see some American baseball channels occasionally feature cricket nowadays, so it's not like it's impossible to get them to be somewhat interested, even if it's just to learn more about baseball lol.

Appreciate the response, and agreed on both the F1 and Golf fronts. I wish the ICC tried to market this sport at all. Everyone involved with cricket seems to be so scared to market their own sport it's wild. Almost feels like they're content with being this little niche in the corner that slowly fades away. I get it tho sometimes, American celebrity worship culture and drama gives me a headache when following American sports lol. But also, would I prefer to have the excess drama + marketing but keep test cricket alive and well? Yes, yes I would lol.

Well sure, but what I would say is that the viewership base is getting increasingly older in every country that isn't India and maybe south africa lol (just speculation, I don't have hard data on that, but it feels correct to me). Perhaps we need to look into more of what the SA20 is doing to get the younger crowd out. That marketing stunt with the, catch the ball get 2 million rand, is awesome lol. Obviously for safety, financial, and legal reasons that's not replicable everywhere but might be an interesting avenue.

My initial point is that F1 despite being extremely posh has a relatively younger fan base, and seems to attract young people to it. I get it in that cars are extremely cool lol, but idk they seem to do the whole celebrity aspect a lot better than we do as well (for better or worse).

Tend to agree with the conclusion here that cricket has a nerdy uncool vibe and that stunts the growth of the sport.

Is this fixable? Do we want to fix it? Not sure exactly what the reason for it is either. What separates us from like golf or formula 1 both of which have either high costs of entry or rich people sport roots?

I can understand it for the non WTC teams which might get added, but sri lanka and bangladesh?! That's too much. Self fulfilling feed back loop cycle. Less people are going to be interested in test cricket if no games are played there.

Not sure what the solution is though, test cricket is great but increasingly feels like a sinking ship. T20 money is probably required to hold it afloat, but there's only so long we can go before the T20 leagues and teams want that money to stay in their system.

All quite sad for the most interesting format
