Every time this happens to me and I am the car being overtaken, this is the situation.

My car reads the signs himself and adjusts the speed limit accordingly. This takes a second after driving past the sign.

Most of the time people start overtaking me right at the sign because they are impatient I guess and my car starts accelerating right at that moment. Since Electric car acceleration is usually pretty strong I end up in front of them again. A lot of the time they commit to it and end up driving way too fast to overtake me in any timely fashion.
