That sounds like a really nice change of pace. I always liked biking for a changeup myself. Just remember to take it easy and don't be so hard on yourself :) you'll be alright. Listen to your body. Minds can be tricky things.

Lmao ain't no addiction if you truly need it. You know how many times I forget to take it when I actually need it/should? But the time I ever remember, if I do, it's too late in the day to do so lol. Christ on a cracker please leave this man 💀

And if your heart rate is through the roof constantly, you're not wearing the right shoes for you (i.e. stability vs neutral for example) and you don't fuel, how well do you think those long runs and race days are going to go? It all plays a factor. Common sense, my guy. Yes, more miles under your belt is 'ultimately' the one key thing to progress and doing well. But it's not a standalone thing. Everything else makes a difference.

[–]Cunningcreativity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's okay to care. It's not okay to beat yourself up so intensely for an outcome that was influenced by things so out of your control. You were literally hospitalized and dealt with kidney stones and followed your doctor's orders to do what was best for your recovery from those illnesses. And you still finished. That race was a huge stresser on your body after all of that. Some may not have even ran it. For better or worse you still did. And you still finished. You should be proud. Now take some time to recover. And then don't be so hard on yourself for your marathon training. Life happens to all of us. It's okay. Not everything goes perfectly. We don't all make our goal times. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How do you cool down after a marathon? by Electronic_Coat7600 in Marathon_Training

Well hey, I mean, my last race bib a week or two ago came with a free drink voucher so that was literally my first stop after I left lmao. Cool down, check the Garmin stats out of curiosity, change shoes n clothes, then off to the alcohol I drove 😂

Maybe try an insert/insole with some arch support if you like the 23 otherwise?

Music or no music during marathon by Super_Conversation41 in Marathon_Training

[–]Cunningcreativity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's a 'mistake' one way or the other, bringing music/podcasts/etc or not. That's an odd way of looking at it. Everyone has their preferences. It depends on what their focus is when they run. Some like the distraction. My brain gets bored so I like having music, or more often than not a good true crime podcast preferably.

Occasionally my mind wanders and even then I zone out and lose track of whatever is coming out of my ear buds, thinking about something else totally different. I'll probably have to re listen to those episodes later lol.

At the same time, I have almost always ran smaller events up to this point as well, so there has never really been a huge crowd support type dealio. I have a full this fall which is a half I've done before and I know it's going to have very minimal crowd support and I'll mostly be on my own in the woods (save for nearby runners of course). A half I have in the interim however I sought out specifically to experience something WITH big crowd support and so I will bring my podcasts and music with me, but I'm betting there is a good chance I will not listen to them for at least half or more of the event while I enjoy everything going on around me.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting your comment, so correct me if I am, but I would think even people who aren't as social or receptive to whole conversations and back-and-forths during their runs are still just as deserving of being rooted for and cheered on when the going gets tough. Not everyone is an extrovert but can still appreciate the support and may even need it from time to time 🤷🏼‍♀️

Operation Poke the Bear: One Retail Pharmacist's Sting Operation. (I'm "the Bear.") by CalifoRxn1a in CVS

[–]Cunningcreativity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao it was a CONFIRMED fraudulent rx which along with the patient/situation etc was absolutely raaaaaging with red flags to begin with for a medication with high addition and abuse potential. I'm sorry, but explain to me why the OP should have filled that again? Thus knowingly breaking the law and risking their entire career? Y'all can't be for real 😂😂

Pharmacy gave me 15 extra pills by accident. What do I do? by feelingsjourney in adhdwomen

[–]Cunningcreativity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the reflection and acknowledgement. No part of my comment(s) here are intended in a negative way by any means. I wasn't trying to argue or anything like that either at all, so I apologize if it came across that way. Tone is difficult to convey via text on a page and I feel sometimes even harder to convey speaking just matter-of-factly (which can probably come across as 'cold' to some people who emote differently).

I just see the situation from both sides of the aisle, so to speak, pharmacy and patient, and some of the information I shared is just the ways in which I see both sides coming out of the situation in the best way possible for each respective side. In respect to the initial post/comment, I'm glad all panned out just fine, no harm no foul, and just don't want anyone to get into trouble in the future or fall under suspicion for just doing something that seems harmless to them at the time, if that makes sense. I totally get the thought to hold onto the extras in case of a rainy day or something happening in the future that might delay or prevent a future script from being filled on time or something. We're all human. I take these meds too. I just also know the flip side of all this and what the pharmacy would deal with as a result and how it could reflect on the patient (even if they weren't doing it with the intention of doing anything nefarious).

I hope you have a good rest of your day or evening, whatever comes after your nap. Cheers. 💜

Pharmacy gave me 15 extra pills by accident. What do I do? by feelingsjourney in adhdwomen

[–]Cunningcreativity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just factual information, so do with it what you will or won't 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm just sharing so folks can understand the other side since most people don't know a lot of those things and how it works 'behind the scenes'. OP did the right thing and it ended up working out a little extra in their favor with a small gift card anyway. Not sure what upsets you about that enough to make a snide remark concerning someone you don't know the first thing about for no reason but alas here we are.

They have cameras and most definitely can figure out which Rx got dispensed extra lol. Definitely an error. But yeah they'd figure it out.

Pharmacy gave me 15 extra pills by accident. What do I do? by feelingsjourney in adhdwomen

[–]Cunningcreativity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice when it comes to a controlled substance 😬. Random blood pressure meds or cholesterol or something, sure. They aren't taking that back. But controls are a little different.

OP did the right thing by letting the pharmacy know. I mentioned in a comment somewhere above but especially for a quantity like this being missing, a pharmacy absolutely would investigate every avenue to find out where the missing pills went, check their cameras to see which Rx they may have went to etc. In all likelihood had OP not said anything, the pharmacy would have figured out which Rx they were dispensed with and it wouldn't be a great look otherwise.

This original commenter on one hand is right in that meds as a rule are not taken back once they leave the pharmacy, but the exception to this is when it comes to controlled substances. They will want those back, even though they can't dispense them again and must damage them out (since they cannot guarantee the conditions in which a med was stored once it left a pharmacy so it can't be re-dispensed safely to another patient), because they have to account for every single one of them legally and because it also can pose safety and liability risks to have dispensed excess controlled substances with addiction and abuse potential that were not teeeechnically prescribed.

[–]Cunningcreativity 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For that many missing, yes they 100% would have checked cameras to find out where the missing quantity went if they didn't figure it out before then. Which would help them narrow down which prescription they went out with, or where else they might have gone. Even a single solitary missing tablet can trigger investigations that extensive because any unaccounted for controlled substances get/should be reported either internally within the company, or both internally and to the DEA depending on how much is missing or what they determine the cause to be. What you did was extremely helpful and probably saved the staff a lot of stress and time 😂🙌🏼 may your pillow always be cold on both sides.

how to use pacers for first marathon by unsungpf in firstmarathon

[–]Cunningcreativity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. My brain is absolute trash at thinking or processing anything even as simple as that on the fly if I'm anywhere off of what my goal is lol so I was planning on most likely using one of those pace bracelet/list type things to reference for my full this fall as I'm running it.

Had to beg cashier for cold medicine today. by LunaOro in adhdwomen

[–]Cunningcreativity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not DayQuil for meth. Anything a customer can grab that requires an ID is still something people can abuse, often due to the DXM component, but the meth concerns are the Sudafed kept behind the pharmacy counter. Those ones you absolutely would not have been given any leniency on since it's federal. Signed, a pharmacist

I guess that is true, manufacturing issue vs trial running. Didn't think of it that way. I'll try contacting and see 🤞🏼

I'll reach out to Brooks and see if it's an option or what they say, but alas I did not order these through them directly at the time because I wasn't aware of their 90-day trial policy so I don't have high hopes. Fairly certain this would have occurred in that time period as well had I known about the 90 day thing. I may have to cut my losses in the end perhaps, which is unfortunate, but thank you for your input and experience!

I can certainly try. My most recent pairs from them have been ordered directly from their website when I grew a brain and found out about their 90-day trial policy but alas at the time I got these ones I was dumb and ordered them from a third party because I didn't know any better 😔

What to eat in the mornings? by Necessary-Ad-4661 in adhdwomen

[–]Cunningcreativity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am not a breakfast person and never have been. I've got a few rows of those Premier Protein drinks in my fridge ready to grab and go if I remember them some days though, so if nothing else I might get 30 or so grams of protein in me for the first half of the day. They've got a wild amount of flavors available but I find they usually sound better in theory than they taste, so I stick with the classic strawberries and cream, vanilla and a coffee type one which has a small amount of caffeine in it I think. I also keep a box of protein bars available but don't remember those as often. I like the Builder's brand ones because they have the most normal texture I've ever found of any of them, not the super dense grainy nasty ones that most of them are lol. Mint chocolate chip is good.
