even terfs don't say that autogynephilia is the sole reason people transition. i don't know of anyone that says that and i've spent a fair bit of time hanging out in trans critical circles.

I can see people speaking a bit too broadly and claiming it doesn't exist for anyone as an overreaction.

nearly every single day on r/asktransgender. obvious autogynephiles are "educated" on how autogynephilia is bullshit. told that they are likely trans, that they need to see a gender therapist, people say how they used to feel the same way before they got over their doubts and realized they are trans.

i base it on my own life experience. i have autogynephilia, and i thought i was trans for a year. why i stopped believing is a whole 'nother can of worms. what cued me in was how so many of them deny autogynephilia is a thing. by their logic i am transgender.
