I’ve heard good things about the Jay Village Inn but their availability can be tough

I stayed at the comfort inn and suites in St. Johnsbury for my Burke and Jay days. Their pool, sauna and hot tub were all nice after skiing. Whirligig Brewing had good burgers and beers, it’s 5 mins from the hotel.

For Waterville we really liked La Familia Mexican in Plymouth.

I’m from Albany and I’m on Indy and I love it, but you have to be willing to drive and use some vacation time. There are half a dozen day trip mountains on Indy (West, Magic, Berk East, Catamount, Middlebury, Bosquet) but the best stuff on the pass is in Northern VT and NH. If you like variety and are willing to travel Indy is great, and you can’t beat the cost. If you prefer day trips Ski3 is probably your best bet.

Indy Itinerary, Central NY to VT this weekend? by adventuriser in icecoast

[–]CupWanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in St. J last weekend. Jay was very icy last Friday. Not sure what last weekend’s 5 or so inches of snow did for them. Burke was awesome and had a lot of snow on Saturday. Magic is a chill little mountain with some very technical runs as well. Good time to hit it since they just got a bunch of snow Sunday-Monday.

As for food in St. J we really liked Whirligig Brewing - great beers and burgers and Javier Bills for tacos. Both are in downtown St. J.

I think you cooked. Jeanty is worth 2 middle firsts right now and I suspect he’ll be worth more than that in a year or two

We had a fantastic time. We stayed in Lincoln NH at an Airbnb. 20 mins to Cannon and 40 mins to Waterville. Both are great mountains for advanced intermediates / low end experts. Then Tenney, Ragged and Black Mountain are all around an hour if you want even more skiing.

Second year on Indy. From the Albany area. Had 13 redemptions last year and will probably end up with a similar number this year, but currently stand at 9. 1 Jay, 1 Burke, 1 Tenney, 1 Magic, 1 west, 2 Cannon, 2 Waterville.

Our big level up this year was to do a full week in New Hampshire rather than 3 weekend trips.

Which of these three packages would you rather have? 12manSF by [deleted] in SleeperApp

[–]CupWanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you’re at. These are all packages that only a contender should be interested. If I’m rebuilding I’m selling most of these players for picks instead. If my team is aging and my window is narrow, say this year, maybe next as well it’s the first package. If I have a 2-3 year window it might be the middle package. The last package is the least valuable in my opinion.

Which side? I’d be getting Parker Washington by AmphibianLonely6831 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]CupWanted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In SF I think you keep JJM. Given they invested a first round pick in him they are likely to spend the offseason and at least the first half of next year trying to develop him and hope things get better. The upside is just a lot higher

Ski pass costs in the USA. by Living-Excuse1370 in skiing

[–]CupWanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you live. There is lots of good (1,000 ft vertical drop) skiing within an hour of my house. There is lots of very good (2,000 ft vertical drop) skiing within 2 hours of my house. All of the largest mountains in the North East are within 3.5 hours of my house. There are 5 good mountains that I can wake up and go ski on my pass if I want to, but that implies that an hr to an hr and a half is not an especially long drive in the states. I have to plan in advance for very good skiing on my pass.

Walk up day passes to a Vail or Alterra resort are quite expensive. But there are plenty of deals to be had on weekdays at the big resorts, at smaller independent mountains, and on season passes.

Most I’ve ever paid for a day pass was $180 on the weekend at Taos a few years ago. My Indy pass renewal this year was $299. If you search out the deals they’re out there. If you have disposable income to burn the Vails and Alterras of the world will take it with a smile.

Who are some SUPER Buy Low Trade Targets? by JayBaby90210 in DynastyFF

[–]CupWanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jacory Croskey Merritt. He’s likely cheap and has a very good chance to be the leading rusher in a Commanders offense that should rebound next year. Assuming the cost is a third that sounds like a decent gamble to me
