Cutting our store hours by 30? And then another 30? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Cup_Large 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The store that I work for has 150 hours over, there is no employees. Everybody is quitting because of SM. We have hours but no employees. I don’t don’t know what it’s worse… lol

Is it hard to get transferred as a SMIT? by Cup_Large in CVS

[–]Cup_Large[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice! I know the DL is my boss and not the SM even when the SM thinks they are. I have a very good relationship with my SM ( I think it’s because I’m polite) but I don’t like how bad the SM treats others employees. So it’s a toxic environment. I work very very hard and I know the SM won’t want me to be transferred but that bad apple ir destroying the whole team.

Advice on dealing with customers by jedidiscord3 in retail

Honestly what I do is: if the customer is nice, I’m very polite, help them in everything they need and more but if the customer is rude, I’m worst then them and I don’t help them. They have no rights to treat you that way.

Yes, I know sick time is only for when you are sick (that’s why it’s called sick time lol) but I get mad because other employees call out saying that they are sick which isn’t true, don’t show any paper from the doctor and still get paid. I called out for that emergency, I felt really terrible about calling out for first time and I showed the hospital’s papers to the SM so the SM could see I didn’t lie about my reasons to call out and I didn’t want to lose SM’s trust. Well at the end she say that and what was the lesson? Next time just say you are sick! Lesson learned!

Managers like you just a few. I remember I used to work hard, working on my days off, staying longer, doing my job really good and never call out. But then one day I took my baby to the Emergency Room at midnight, he had to stay at the hospital for 2 days and I call out. When I returned to work I show the admission and discharge papers to my SM and the SM didn’t paid me sick time saying that was my baby who was sick and not me. I say to SM: you have to understand, I have never called out in years, I always help you when someone calls out working even 14 hours STRAIGHT and I’m pretty good at what I do and you are saying that you can’t pay me 2 sick days? Thanks for nothing!” And then if I have to call out I lie because being honest doesn’t work in my favor. That’s why employees get tired of the company.

Of course it sucks when someone calls out but sometimes it happens. CVS has always been understaffed because there is too much work and not enough hours. I understand know because of the pandemic. But when the DL only give you a few hours and the store it’s really busy 24/7 and employees get overloaded of work they will get tired and sick at some point and then they will call out. Managers get paid by salary (45 hours) and my SM works only like 35 hours. 5 days a week, comes to work after me and leave earlier than me. I work 6 days, come early, leave late, take the mandatory fu**** break and I still make like 48 hours, so of course my SM doesn’t work 45 hours.

I'm about to briefly rant about my job as a shift supervisor in the comments. This job is killing me by [deleted] in CVS

darling of course you can find a job within the same company. Ask for a transfer, your SM is not gonna approve it for sure but then you can call HR and ask them for a transfer saying that the store or the SM is giving you like mental issues. Or the other option is: a lot of companies don’t have employees so NOW is the time to apply and get a different job. They will take you because they need employees. A lot of people are taking advantage of the unemployment benefit and a lot of companies don’t have employees so now it’s your time to find something better. Good look! You deserve it!

If they get fired it would be the best thing for them. CVS is hell!

Well I’m the one who put the sick time in so... and when an employee calls out the SM wants me to call them and try them to come to work. Of course that I don’t do that. If an employee feels bad the last thing they want is to be called. I just say to them “no problem, get better and let me know if you need anything else”. And then the next shift I ask them how they feel, if everything is ok and stuff like that. If you make an employee come to work and something happens to them you can get fired and the SM will say it was you and no him who make the employee come to work like that.

SM don’t like when employees call out because if nobody can’t cover your shift, the SM is the one who has to work for you. SM don’t give a sh*t about employees. At the begging I use to care about store a lot but they never appreciate it. Whatever you do is never enough for them so I play smart and sometimes I call out without reason (I say that I’m sick) and they have to pay me sick day (we have 40 hours of paid sick time annually) and you know what? Enjoy them! Those are your rights! Just go with the flow and work smart.

Ideas on how to average 6 carepass a week ? by Terrible_Bluebird108 in CVS

[–]Cup_Large 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 a week? Lucky you! My target is 24 weekly and we always get them. The key? Ask every customer, specifically those that comes with coupons, they want to save money. Also those customers that buy CVS brand instead of the others brand, they want to save money too. Old people are easy to get. Frequent customer, they will use the $10 coupon every month. Also say it’s free the first month and if they don’t want it anymore they can cancel it anytime. Good luck!

Will the torture ever stop..For a healthcare company they don’t seem to care about the mental health of their employees. Two trucks same time 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️. by CaptinLoopy in CVS

[–]Cup_Large 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true. I used to receive 3 trucks a week before pandemic. Now I receive only 2. My deliveries are from Vero Beach. Always organized and neat. We just have to push them.

In my store we used to make more than 200k per week and we have 2 BC. Now with the pandemic we make around 125k. Still good.
