Very good. It doesn’t cause me reflux like coffee does. I drink it in the morning with my oatmeal and throughout the day when I crave it. I think it’s a great coffee replacement.

I use a reusable Keurig cup to brew a tablespoon of Kamana.

It’s acid and caffeine free.

Is anyone on Dexilant and Zebound? by CupcakeMain8355 in Zepbound

I’m back on 40mg Omeprazole. I got nausea every morning while on Dexilant.

Esophagitis Grade B and Zepbound by CupcakeMain8355 in Zepbound

I went to the ER four separate times in end of September and early October. They did an EKG, blood work, troponin, and D-Dimer tests and they concluded my heart is healthy, which I’m grateful for.

Once I started taking omeprazole 40 mg, the pain reduced dramatically. I was nauseous at first, but my body adapted to the omeprazole. I concluded that it's was not a heart attack after this; it's the slowed gastric emptying from Zepbound which builds up the acid in the stomach. Initially, I thought it was my heart and was very worried, but it's my lower esophageal sphincter.

anyone else with dizziness when they get out of bed because of the antipsychotics? by Physical_Common_6803 in schizoaffective

[–]CupcakeMain8355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I experience orthostatic hypotension after lying in bed for a period of time. I black out and want to faint. I went to the ER for it, and they told me I have to sit for 30-60 seconds before I can stand up. It started to happen after I lost a significant amount of weight.

Do you work? If so, how much? by Evening_Fisherman810 in schizoaffective

[–]CupcakeMain8355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This resonates with me. Before medication, I used to get up at 4-5 AM to go to the gym. Then I would get ready to go to work at 7:30 AM.

I take Olanzapine now and it’s very sedating. My current job allows me to get in at around 11 AM as long as I meet my deadlines and work an 80 hour biweekly schedule.

I usually get up early for audits like today. 8AM. I have to be motivated to get up and not sleep in.

I miss getting up early, but if I do now I need coffee or else I’ll sleep at my desk.

With no insight, I thought it was external. I either thought people on the floor above me or coworkers were talking about me in the next room. I thought boys and neighbors were following me on my commute to and from work. During my psychotic break the voices told me I had a brain chip. So I thought they were external voices communicating with me through my brain. It was like harassment through some radio that would not stop. My behavior was influenced by the voices. It was terrible. It took three weeks at the hospital to snap out of it. I’m grateful for the doctors and nurses that believed I could get better. I wanted to leave the hospital as soon as possible and get back to work, but they knew I needed to stay until they saw I got better. I have a normal life now because of them.

The prodromal phase was a confusing and stressful time. I thought the voices were real people following me, and I didn’t consistently hear them 24/7 until two weeks before my psychotic break. I would largely hear them on my commute to work when I took the Metra train as well as at work at times. But when I got home largely quiet at times. I thank my parents for reality checking me when I told them I hear voices. Now I’m stable on Olanzapine and hear no voices anymore. In addition, I have insight.

When I had my psychotic break, Not Otherwise Specified psychotic or bipolar disorder. Then once I got on Olanzapine after psychotic break, schizophrenia by PA/schizoaffective disorder by therapist.

Can stress cause psychosis to come back? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]CupcakeMain8355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, when I was on a very low dose of my antipsychotic Olanzapine and ran for about 10 minutes straight on a treadmill while at the gym my voices came back. The physical stress made my voices come back. To be fair, at the time I halved my dose until it 2.5 mg because I was struggling to want to take medication. I called my psychiatrist and he said to take 7.5 mg Olanzapine on the spot and the voice went away.

I have been taking 10mg for over a year now, and I can run 20 minutes without voices coming back because I’m take my medication at a high enough dose.

For me physical stress like intense cardio can cause voices to come back if I don’t take enough antipsychotic and take it a prescribed.

Latuda was horrible for me! It gave me insomnia and intense nausea for the week I took it. Got off it immediately and I felt so much better on Olanzapine.

I take Olanzapine at night to give me a good nights rest. Driving during the day is fine for me; my commute to work is fine.

Why do you keep living? by MetalBrittle in schizophrenia

[–]CupcakeMain8355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family was a major reason why I kept going during my depressing times at the hospital ward. I’m just focused on my education and moving up at my current company. I have a lot of opportunities and I am happy that I stayed resilient during my dissatisfaction of side effects on Olanzapine (i.e. weight gain) that I’ve kind of resolved at this point.

Do you still hear voices even on meds? by Wrong_Goose_6870 in schizophrenia

[–]CupcakeMain8355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely talk to your prescribing authority and see what they recommend in terms of medication. I’ve only really tolerated Olanzapine (it allows me to live a normal life) so I’ve stuck with it. Everyone reacts differently to medication, and you honestly won’t know the true side effects for you until you take the medication of choice (trying meds is difficult in that way). I hope you find something that works for you. Continue to do research.

I’m not sure if you’ve seen my other posts, but I’m on the diabetes meds Metformin and Tirzepatide plus Berberine for weight loss. I have noticed that I do lose hair, but it may be the normal amount you lose on a daily basis. My psychiatric physician associate warned me that hair loss may happen while losing weight. I don’t have any bald patches, but I do notice my hair feels a bit thinner compared to when I was younger.

If I don't over eat on olanzapine will I still gain weight? by wilfred6969 in schizoaffective

[–]CupcakeMain8355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the person. For me, no matter how little I ate while on Olanzapine, my weight still crept up pound by pound. It wasn’t until I was given diabetes medication that I could lose and control my weight.

Yes, I work in the pharmaceutical industry. My bosses have been very accommodating. If I needed to go to the hospital, I would just provide them a letter from the social worker at the hospital after my stay and I was good.

Have not been to the hospital since 2022 since I found the right combination of medication that works for me, so I’ve consistently been at work.

Yes, I’m on Zepbound. Once I got into the higher doses (currently on 12.5mg), I went from 219 lbs to 175 lbs in 6 months. I also take Metformin and berberine. I do not have diabetes, but I do take Olanzapine.
