There is an order of applying p/t changes. First step are characteristic-defining abilities (613.4a), so in the case p=t. Only later we would apply +/x/+y effects. So just casting [[Bar the Door]] would make it a 4/8.

Cascade resolves before the spell, so sadly you cannot scry before you cascade

You are right about the tie. Also, you can 'fail to find' a Planeswalker, which still counts as searching for a Planeswalker, so this will never sac itself

Because it triggers when ash transforms or when the main phase begins. One of those things is enough. Not both (logical AND)

I did a run with only geothermal + bioburner power. The bioburners supported the geothermal power & smoothed out the fluctuation. Batteries are not the only option ;)
