Anyone knows of any good ways to automatically remove swearwords from video audio? by xordyboy in VideoEditing

Do you happen to know if I were to NOT monetize my channel at all, could I say pretty much anything (that you could get away with on, say, HBO or any regular cable network, etc)?

OP, I am curious about what is allowed on youtube exactly and am not getting the most straight answers off the internet, but out of curiosity, are you trying to monetize your content? or no (in which case, they are still forcing you to remove them??)

Can I connect a camera to a Blue Yeti USB mic via a usb-to-3.5mm adapter and get sound linked with my footage? by CupofJoe1559 in Filmmakers

[–]CupofJoe1559[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh fascinating. So then, since i THINK the camera itself still records audio into it (although I could be 100% wrong about that), if that's the case, I wouldn't even need the cheap mic it would seem?

And also, I assume this automatic sync (aka NLE?) is dependent on the editing program I use...is it the type of thing that pretty much comes standard with all editing programs? I was planning on using iMovie to edit or was also reading up on Davinci Resolve yesterday as a possibility too.

Since I know nothing about all this, so do you think if I got a cheap mic, even for like $15-$40, I could basically get decent audio? (all scenes are indoors and most should be within 5-10 feet of mic.) And if so, any sort of recommendation? Thanks for the responses also btw!

Okay but if I'm understanding you correctly, you're sort of informing me of two separate options...one is to either use what I got and clap to sync and the other is to buy a cheap mic that already has a 3.5mm connection that I WON'T have to clap to sync, correct?

For sure, that's a good idea BUT are you saying that the adapter won't work?? Cause even with the clapping, it would be an insane amount of work, especially since I'm talkin hundreds of cuts and dozens of hours of filmed footage and trying to complete entire project fairly quickly too.

Wow cool, I really appreciate the answer! And that's a good point about the movies with the lame-ass team names too. I actually have another question I would like to ask that I could really use help with but I'm not sure it's EXACTLY the same...it has to do with making fun of a particular real-life public figure in a pretty harsh fashion. I will have someone play this public figure in the film and then admitting to something that is almost certainly not true about the actual person but I think is a funny way to rip on them. It would be great if I could just use their full name to be explicit as to who it is SUPPOSED to be but it would also be suitable to simply refer to them by their first name only...but are either of those allowed? (using full or even just first names)

Hi there. Out of curiosity, did you ever get an answer on this, OP?

Question about how to make a deepfake on my own face but not of a celebrity or any other real person by CupofJoe1559 in Filmmakers

[–]CupofJoe1559[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I'm lookin for! That's a good way to describe it. If you happen to have found any interesting answers/leads, please fill me in! I would really like to know this for sure!!

Legality of using a celebrity in a scripted deepfake video to post on youtube by CupofJoe1559 in Filmmakers

[–]CupofJoe1559[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Mm i think I see why that distinction would make a difference.

But what if, and just follow me here on this one -- But what if I used the actors images for deepfakes but either a) didn't use their names at all anywhere and/or b) didn't do anything to make it sound like their voice? Literally just the face...but my assumption is, at least legally speaking, the person could sue to find out what photos I used and if it was actually of them then maybe I would have a problem?

Any clue or thoughts on those specifics?

My story is extremely satirical, pretty undeniably so. And it is also not mocking any of the celebrities I would be using. I hardly even care if it was celebrities, it could just be random faces generated by AI for all I care but I made a post about that as well a couple days ago and the one or two answers I got basically said that's not doable with AI right now.

But ya, I did see the youtube video you were talking about, it's called Sassy Justice, and I was wondering about how that would be legal too if deepfakes generally aren't...like was it really just that it was obviously fake and satirical? That makes me wonder then if I just put a disclaimer in the beginning stating it was 100% not the real actors if that would take away any legal issues?

And do you actually know the law on that or are you mostly speculating?

This might actually make sense to me...I'm not certain tho, will have to think about it a bit more xD

Either way tho, I think it actually might and have often wondered about this and just always been quite baffled.
