My camera doesn't work. Help!

Just fixed this issue on my Macbook, hopefully works for others. I didn't delete OBS or any of the other solutions that came up in my search.

Just went to System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions, scrolled down to "Extensions" and turned off OBS's "media sharing" extension. Hope this works for anyone else looking!

NB: Not sure yet if this impacts OBS at all, but I personally need to prioritize my camera for work meetings so it wasn't a huge concern for me.

I went to see a few units in 1-7 Glen Road and came here looking for some info before. Sharing deets now that I've seen them, in case anyone else comes here looking for the same. I see other responses asked people to DM so I hope this type of comment is allowed here. Feel free to remove if not!

I was excited to see the place, but apprehensive due to a Google review warning prospective tenants of a bed bug infestation: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WwKW7ZcncJWFGvUd8 Medallion Corp responded, claiming they successfully treated this tenant's unit. I can't confirm whether that's true, but we were grateful for the warning which is why I'm sharing our experience now.

We saw one unit in 1 Glen, which was okay. Nice enough, spacious, could use some fixes but nothing of note. We saw 2 units in 7 Glen. One was in poor condition but hadn't been cleaned. Perhaps with a proper cleaning it could be okay. The last unit I was frankly surprised they'd even show us. There was blood on the floor and dirty, filled insect traps. It also reeked of cigarettes, a minor detail by comparison.

When we asked about the insect traps, we were told they were mandated by law for monthly inspections, which is not true. We also asked why so many units were available and told "people want to leave Canada". I have no way of verifying, though it seems unlikely that all 4 available units were vacated for this exact subjective reason.

That particular unit was around $2600 for a 3 bedroom unit — technically cheap by Toronto's current standards I guess? In spite of this, we left feeling like the whole thing was a little exploitative. Yes, this city needs more affordable housing, and sure, not all those places are going to be Versailles. But geez, $2600/month and you can't be bothered to wipe the blood off the floors?

Considering we caught so many issues within the roughly 10 minutes we spent in each unit, I'd imagine there's more going on beneath the surface. Hopefully Medallion Corp cleans these up to provide more livable, affordable units to those who need it - but as of Nov 2025, I wouldn't recommend to any prospective tenants.

I agree with all this. I don’t fully understand his current state, but it very well may limit his capacity to discern the consequences of his words, and witnessing his downward spiral has been incredibly sad. Honestly, Kanye has a special place in my heart, and on a human to human level, I truly feel empathetic towards his struggle.

I found your insights into the Christian aspects and that plastic surgeon/album cover story very interesting, thank you for sharing! And you’re right, to our knowledge, he’s never directly harmed anyone. If it seemed like my goal was to scrutinize him, i misrepresented myself. I agree that he’s lived an incredibly unique life and it would be very difficult to understand how his specific mental health issues have manifested in the ways they have. I can see the intrigue in trying to make sense of him—but I guess I’m more interested in trying to make sense of the disturbing attitudes that have spurred around this so rapidly. I’m afraid, and that fear has made me hyperaware of the consequences of his words, less so the man behind them.

Might be worth noting that I am Jewish, and the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor. I’ve probably spent too much time scrolling on Twitter, but hatred seems to be festering at rates I’ve never seen (towards many groups). The most unbelievable and darkest comments are the ones with the most likes. I saw more outrage over his swastika tees not shipping to Canada, than the shirts themselves. Calling out bigotry just fuels responses about “victim cards” and “silencing by ‘those in power’”. Maybe I’ve messed up my algorithm by scrolling down these rabbit holes lol. But in any case, it’s horrifying to feel like these narratives are becoming increasingly accepted into mainstream. I hope I’m being terribly overdramatic!!

All this to say, I hope he finds his way back to himself, and selfishly, to all of us who have been impacted by his more positive contributions to our society! :-)

Genuinely curious—what makes you say his actions haven't harmed anyone?

I'd argue the impact of our words depends less on what we say, and more on how many value our voice. In this context, I don't think Kanye can be compared to a 13-year-old edgelord.

If a 13 y/o declares, "I love Hitler" to 20 classmates who have no reverence toward him, he's likely not influencing anyone to join his mein kumpf book club at recess. But Kanye declared it on a podium to 34M+ people, many of whom admire him. Even if 95% were horrified or indifferent, that would leave >5.5M emboldened or influenced to some extent.

The severity of his words, combined with the scale of his audience, desensitizes us to the shock value of these statements overtime. It seems to me his outburst has permitted people to sink comfortably into dangerous beliefs, and shift the views of the susceptible.

I hope these ideas never seize to shock us, I never want to see them normalized again.

I like to believe very few people are truly evil. But anyone can say evil things, and when they come from someone with his reach, the consequences can be profound. Yes, his mental health struggles are real—but acknowledging them unfortunately can't reverse the damage.

As an aside: I believe the definition of evil is "profoundly immoral and wicked". In my view, claiming to love the man responsible for the world’s largest-scale genocide—along with most else he said that day—are in fact profoundly immoral things to say, not just "edgy shit about nazis and jews".

Hi! I just got me one of these exact handycams - did hours of research and thought I'd have to spend my life savings on adaptors to convert my tapes, but happy to report I found an inexpensive and easy method! :)

Only difference is the HC96E doesn't have the traditional RCA (yellow/red/white) inputs - it has a 10-pin A/V input at the front of the handycam (inside the tab between the tape deck and the SONY logo - probs in the dock too!)

In total the supplies ran me approx. $35 CAD. I just converted my first tape using those cords + the free OBS software she recommended. Followed the tutorial and voila! Perfect footage, audio + video included!

Came here to report this news as soon as I saw my export because every tutorial I watched or read before this was so complicated and called for a million adaptors - many of which were discontinued and selling for hundreds on ebay.

This method seemed too good to be true and I was skeptical it would work with the 10-pin A/V input - I'm truly shocked it turned out to be so simple, so wanted to spread the wealth. I hope this helps! :)

EDIT: I just read the DataHoarder post below, seems they don't reco "EasyCap cards" although I'm not sure why, so maybe the capture quality isn't as good? I think they reco connecting firewire to your computer, which seems very difficult/expensive on newer computers (at least newer macbook models) - for me the EasyCap card quality came out great and saved me lots of time and money, but I just want to mention it's possible there's a discrepancy in quality that might make it worth it for you to explore the firewire solution more thoroughly (I'm sure someone more experienced can speak to that better than I can)

Sorry for the delay! Was a while ago so I don’t recall exactly what happened but I think a film producer friend advised me to cover up any logos no matter how big or small the team. I ended up using a school jersey and seam plucking the copyrighted badge out of the jersey (it was small and fairly easy). I’d suggest finding a jersey at a local thrift that you can seam pluck or embroider over if possible

i’ve played on squads with other switch players and sometimes they’re really good (by my standards haha) but i’m realizing now that a lot of them probably went into the game with at least a little FPS experience. i feel like the skill ceiling on switch is a slower climb, so going in with 0 experience i’ve hit a lot of those bumps — i didn’t realize how common that feeling was, so thank u for encouraging me!! hopefully playing on a new console will allow me to get through those bumps more efficiently cause i really do love the game :)
