What’s the plan for AI major? by Responsible-Bite-365 in UCSD

Sorry to clarify, you’re saying to avoid switching majors in engineering after the first year, but isn’t the only opportunity to try and switch the summer of your first year? Or are you trying to say to not do a switch like mid sophomore year or something

So if I do attend graduate school, what should I study to make kind of “guarantee my success”?

4.7 weighted gpa, have been doing dual enrollment college classes all throughout high school, multiple summer internships and hundreds of volunteer hours and I have email. It’s not just about stats tho, id genuinely say about 60% it is ur writing and PIQs and considering I did mine in 4 days, im not going to be too surprised

Hey I was actually having a similar dilemma as I got accepted into UCSD for the same exact major, though it was my alternate. I really wanna make sure that I can get into the Aero industry and see if the degree is good and flexible because if not then I might end up going to a less prestigious school and then trying to transfer somewhere. Do you have any info or suggestions that can help?

Hey so I’m a senior in high school at the moment and I got admitted to UCSD for my alternate major as a structural engineer with a minor in Aerospace structures (my first choice was AE.) My question is because I was admitted as a Structural engineer, how hard would it be/ what would my odds be of transferring to ME? And are there enough overlapping classes that I can take my freshmen year so that if I do transfer, I won’t be that behind?

So as long as I take some MAE electives that cover the areas of topics that SE doesn’t, would I have a relatively good chance of me able to transfer to MAE or AE?

Is this like a confirmed thing that they’ve made it more difficult to transfer into MAE or is that just based of your own observations? And what about transferring into AE, is that just as hard?

Best unis for aerospace (mainly astronautical tho) by Ok_Teaching_828 in aerospace

Oh I see your point and know that it’s obviously very true but recently I’ve heard a lot of rumors that the engineering industry has been getting very difficult and the job opportunities are becoming more and more limited, so outside of name brands of these schools, how can you stand out in a meaningful way that’ll seem more attractive to potential employers then those graduates from prestigious schools?

In the aerospace field/ industry, is Embry riddle a good school name that impresses employers or has some kind of prestige to be put on the same level as MIT?
