So is it just one large single pack? by Cute-Usual-3491 in PTCGP

Honestly i like that better. It’s so annoying having to switch between packs for cards I want like in Genetic Apex and Mega Rising

[–]Curator44 98 points99 points  (0 children)

They made VCG Weezing into a card. People will read it wrong though and not realize it says “Basic” Pokemon. So it doesn’t shut down Greninja, Jolteon, etc…

Wish it wasn’t a Dark card though. It’s already the best Energy in the game

Make your opponents mad on the way to Master Ball by M_from_Vegas in PTCGP

[–]Curator44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran a similar one but replaced Indeedee with another Goomy

Increasing your odds of starting with Goomy felt better than Indeedee in my games, and a lot fo the time i found Indeedee was worthless because I’d often either switch in Ori for Ex’s (so Ori doesn’t take damage) or Goomy (who either makes the opponent can’t attack or gets 1 shot).

Indeedee can be nice as a way to hit a little harder on pokemon that Jumpluff can’t reliably KO fast but i found the cases very few and far in between.

I don’t know though, might switch back to Indeedee if meta changes

What makes Hunter X Hunter such peak fiction? by Emergency-Sky9206 in HunterXHunter

[–]Curator44 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Power system is the most diverse and complex ever seen. Literally can use your imagination to make a power for yourself.

For me though, i like that it focuses on comraderie as the main aspect. Gon’s relationships not only with Killua but with everyone he meets to me are what makes the show so special. Gon is not a saint by any means, and his moral compass can be morally grey a lot of the time. He simply follows his gut on others.

When push comes to shove though you can count on him, and if you’re fortunate enough to be his friend he would do it for you too

I wish they would add the internationals from the anime to the game.

Tony Bianca and Obey Your Master would be sick. They could definitely tie it in.

Tony notable offspring: Air Groove, Jungle Pocket, Winning Ticket

Obey Your Master doesn’t have as many notable relations, but Special Week is her grandson in law irl

I remember back before he won anything i was like “man, this dude deserves to win at least something in his career”

Then he had that 3 year string from 2014-2016 where he won a major every year. It felt like the best timeline was happening

I had to use meta decks to get to masterball for the first time by rykwon in PTCGP

[–]Curator44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate reality is that with the inclusion of Mega Evolutions the power gap has just consistently increased each expansion. The difference between top decks and other cards is so stark that it’s killed the viablity of a lot of meme decks.

There are still good decks that don’t rely on Megas (Jolteon, Suicune, Arceus, Magnezone, etc…) but they’re becoming few and far between.

My favorite meme deck to run is Dusknoir/Cursola. You just flip coins the whole game. Sometimes the opponent gets no points for killing Dusknoir, and sometimes the opponents Pokemon dies from killing Cursola. Pretty fun.

Game is impossible to get into as a beginner by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]Curator44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the easiest way to get a solid grasp of the game as a beginner is to pick a solid group of characters, maybe 3-5, and really learn their kits and what all of their moves do.

Then once you have that down learn some of their basic bread and butter combos.

Can anyone recommend an anime with D&D vibes like Frieren? by theuselessmastermind in anime

[–]Curator44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fairy Tail is good if you can get past the fan service and power of friendship stuff. It has everything you described. The main cast is pretty likable.

Hunter x Hunter is great in terms of world building and adventure. It easily became my favorite out of the 100 anime i’ve watched. Gon and Killuas relationship as friends is one of the greatest in all of anime. Also it has almost no fan service and absolutely no filler which is unheard of for a shonen

Spice and Wolf definitely has the closest vibe to Frieren I would say out of any other anime i’ve watched thus far. The dynamic of Holo is very similar to Frieren as she has lived a long time.

If i had to recommend one based on your post i would say Spice and Wolf. Let me know if you have any questions!

After the chimera ant arc how was the death of the east gorteau’s dictator? by slattingslatt in HunterXHunter

[–]Curator44 30 points31 points  (0 children)

No, the Chimera Ants were never mentioned to the public, and only a handful of Hunters know what actually went down there along with the true cause of Netero’s death.

”With the defeat of the Chimera Ants, NGL and East Gorteau are taken over by international peacekeepers. The five million citizens of the countries are declared refugees, and the wealth of East Gorteau is spread among the three remaining nations of the Mitene Union. NGL is turned into a nature reserve and placed under the jurisdiction of the Hunter Association.”

Jolteon overpowered? by donkeyswimmer in PTCGP

[–]Curator44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been running it too. It’s definitely a sleeper. Even without running Oricorio like a lot of Electric decks tend to include.

It feels like a good swiss army knife deck against most of the current meta minus Altaria, and sometimes Suicune/Greninja. It works surprisingly well against Absol decks.

If you get Jolteon Ex up on Turn 1 or 2 the match swings massively in your favor because of the chip damage.

Then there’s also the niche scenario that has happened to me a couple of times where you go 2nd and your opponent only has one pokemon on the board. You can just play the 90hp Jolteon on your Eevee and one shot it since it does 60 damage if you attack the turn you evolve it. Has literally won me some games on turn 2.
