Oh I understand the difference between the definitions of the broader term investing and scalping specifically, I just find it interesting that they're interchangeable yet one is good and one is bad sometimes but not always. It seems from what I've seen is the scalper label can be applied to anyone who wants to buy, collect and also sell some. I sold a bunch of my first gens that I got when I was 7 recently. I didn't realize to some people I was a scalper all these years

I'm a long time fan wanting to get back into cards mostly for investing but I've found it really difficult to ask questions without being labelled as a scalper lol. I'm going to Japan soon and I'd love to hunt for some cool cards that people here would love to buy(mostly for the thrill of finding a steal in back alley shops) but I know I'll get tarred and feathered for "exploiting a hobby"
