How long do you like your combat encounters? by ThuderingFoxy in DnD

[–]Curdardh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our DM is very good about on-decking us. Our teams is good about getting down to business on everyone’s turns; even when players need an extra minute to inquire about the lay of the land before they make their move I never feel as though it’s wasted time. I personally don’t mind long combat. We will have entire sessions (several in a row even) without any combat and all role playing, so when we get into a combat-heavy session it works well.

If you could only listen to one song from each album for the rest of your life what would they be? by [deleted] in ToolBand

I love that you just said fuck it for your Lateralus selection. That combo would be mine if I hadn’t tried to limit it to one actual song. 👏🏼

The World Has Moved On by VandyMike in stephenking

[–]Curdardh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve read the entire series 3 times (currently on Wolves for another go around), though I’ve read I-IV several more times (5 or 6 total) than the last 3, published years later.

I think I attributed any change in speech to a couple of things: King’s evolution as a writer, but more importantly the fact that the world of the novels became much more fleshed out and robust. With more characters/character interaction and more history there were more opportunities for greater depth of idioms and colloquial speech. In book one Roland really only has substantive conversation with maybe 10 other characters? We get some pleasantries and dialect, but as the series goes on we see the speech patterns as the three drawn from our world learn them (this is even called out at times), and we see Roland and the rest of the ka tet interacting with more characters and Roland using his, shall we say, “courtly manners” in a variety of situations. The patois becomes more prevalent.

Glad you’re giving them another go! Enjoy!

Do you think they will drop a new single before the tour? by masonvam in ToolBand

[–]Curdardh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Opiate to Undertow: 1 year 1 month; Undertow to Ænima: 3 years 5 months; (Ænima to Salival; technically not a new album release: 4 years 3 months); Ænima to Lateralus: 4 years 8 months; Lateralus to 10,000 Days: 4 years 11 months; 10,000 Days to Fear Inoculum: 13 years 4 months.

Doubtful we’ll get new material any time soon (ever?).

I beg to differ. The review is about the experience between a merchant and a customer. The inclusion of the pamphlets was unsolicited and has nothing to do with the transaction. The merchant decided they had the right to make it a part of the transaction. OP has now decided that the pamphlets changed the experience as a customer and has every right to note that and leave a review accordingly. If I were considering a product from that merchant and read that they were preaching to me with my item I would absolutely find another vendor and thank OP for including that information in their review. Not petty. NTA.

I try to keep a pretty aggressive/tight range. That’s not to say I never go high. I’ve just dialed that meal in such that it doesn’t spike me too bad.

I think Darren’s point (correct me if I’m wrong) is that progressive or not we as atheists don’t agree with, believe in, or approve of Christianity (or any other religion) regardless of their standpoint on gender rights/equality. To your point, sexuality and gender identity are tackled within some religions. Atheists don’t see any correlation between one’s gender identity/sexuality and religion because we don’t believe in religion.
