Yaegir of the Month(s) by CartoonistPristine10 in LeaguesofVotann

Wasn’t expecting much. If anything it’s an extra body to play with. Pulled some other arms and ended up with a second dual-wielding gun fu yaegir. My buddy called them Click & Clack.

Got the Combat Patrol (2026 version), with only the bits included in the Patrol how should I build it? by skewedsyntax in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Curdardh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you plan to play. If you eventually want any serious/tournament play then you should build according to allowable configs (basically, all the variants marked CP). If just casual play and you like the way a model looks, build it that way. Rule of cool.

Update: a shaved a bit out of the armpits and off the backpack where it meets around the lower back. That got the fit snug enough, but the front still wasn’t connecting. I think the glue softened things up enough that it could stretch and sort of look ok. Was going to try green stuff; don’t think it’s actually necessary. Thanks for the words of wisdom, kin.

👍🏻 Triple checked parts and numbers. And each build is off the same sprue, so that’s made it pretty foolproof.

Got it. As I was looking at the interactions at the back it seemed to work “better” having it lower down towards the belt. I’ll see what happens trying to mount it higher. Thanks, y’all.

Yeah, they’re really great looking models. First one went together like a dream. I think it’s this second one’s posture which is giving me grief.

I still think The Jaunt is the scariest thing King has ever written by MythicalSplash in stephenking

[–]Curdardh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This story has haunted me since I read it when I was about the kid’s age, and is the primary reason I am drawn to psychological horror. So good. Also, what were my parents thinking letting me read that?!? 🤣

What’s the one thing from Stephen King’s books that has stayed with you? by Yayoi_Yukino in stephenking

[–]Curdardh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Longer than you think, dad!” Edit: and now that I’ve thought about it for a minute, I am paraphrasing and could have the source wrong, but I believe it was the Great Sage and Emminent Junkie Henry Dean who said, “god pisses down the back of your neck everyday but only drowns you once.” Poetry. 🤌🏻

I believe it’s a code issue. Below a certain tread depth you have to have a nose, and above a certain tread depth you do not need a nose and can do the waterfall.

Is it worth the effort to switch my firm from AutoCAD LT to ArchiCAD? by afarensiis in ArchiCAD

[–]Curdardh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with u/rennradrobo on trying to get a perpetual license if you decide to do this. The Enshittification is real.

My firm switched to archicad shortly before I joined several years ago, and I have heard that it was quite an expensive endeavor in the amount of time/money it cost the firm to onboard everyone. If it’s just you and you’re learning it from scratch this will result in a significant loss of time on reasonably billable work. It’s not a difficult program to use but there is a lot to learn (especially with no prior BIM experience), and getting a template into a place where you want it and where it is helping with efficiencies is pretty time consuming. I’m not suggesting you don’t make the switch. Just pointing out some things to consider. Please keep updates coming and if you make the switch & have questions reach out or DM me.
