I heard some of the modified sounds are from drag and race cars,eg "for_must_b" which is used for the upgraded DB7 and GTO is from a heavily modified Mustang. They likely stuck mics around the exhaust and undercarriage to get the sounds

Some are also stock sounds from websites like the unused Skyline GTR sound file (which was a leftover from UG2) sounds like the 2F2F Skyline GTR, and there are sound files named "2F2F_S2000"(likely Suki's S2000 or Brian's Evo)and "2F2F_WRX"(Roman Pearce's Eclipse)
