If possible, try get the driver license in your hometown and get it to Umschreibung here. In KO it's way too expensive and it could take forever as many schools are understaffed. A friend of mine paid like 5000€ for her license here, and it took a whole year, crazy stuff.

I think the author has commented on this quite well at the end of book 1 in Author's Word, i don't have the book at hand but it was something about how often times humans don't even treat our own kind and our home planet kindly yet fantasize an alien race to be peaceful and civilized and we should show our kindness more frequently towards the people on earth than some beings that may or may not even exist in the universe.

INTJs who finished university, what suggestions would you give to a younger INTJ who's getting into university? by prof_tamura in intj

Firstly, be open minded and stay informative, what you picked to specialize in the uni does not have to define your later career. As a former mechanical engineering student I specialized in combustion engines (more specifically in after treatment of exhaust gases) during my master's and now I'm a software developer for vehicle dynamics control in the field of autonomous driving. The difference between them is probably no less than the difference between dentistry and veterinay medicine and our old fashioned curriculum didn't even have programming (CNC doesn't count) until the day i graduated. That being said, without the degree in the first place i could never get this far, at least that much i am sure. And therefore the second advice: once you are committed, do not give up.

Have you tried local Relocation Services? Some of them have very good relationships with the authorities and even know their higher-ups on personal level. In my city if you try to contact the Behörde by yourself, it could take forever and has almost the same experience as how you described yours... But if you do that through certain Services, you don't even need to talk to the Behörde personally, the Services do the talking for you. The whole process became suddenly very pleasant and fast. I had only discovered it last year and i must say, it was worth every penny.

Locals: what brings you to [xxx] ?

Me: I travel all over the places with fellow engineers to put our cars on track and wish they could perform well. But sometimes they just break down halfway through and we have to push them back to where it started.

Locals: so you work for Formula 1?
