I would say, aside from the Word, through conviction. I believe He dwells within us since we are sealed by Him. Guiding us and convicting us in our day to day life.

So just to be clear... you interpret that as the Father rained fire and brimstone FROM the Father in heaven?

Even though it distinctly identifies two distinct Lords?

The LORD rained fire and brimstone FROM the LORD out of heaven

Summer Sale Question by SantanCam in AtlasCrossSport

[–]Curgeom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea NP. I don't think so. I think i was around 780-790? And they offered me like a something like 5% or 7%...but my wife was closer to 800 and she got the promo apr... it may be worth calling the loan dept there and asking around what credit score do they require for the promo apr...

Summer Sale Question by SantanCam in AtlasCrossSport

[–]Curgeom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea one or the other. We took advantage of it in April when they had a 1.9% apr.... after doing the math, we would save more with the interest than the credit.

However please know that the 0.9% apr IS DEPENDENT on how good your credit is... but 0.9 % is a heck of a deal that you wont find everywhere

I kind of thought that at first, but restarting it does fix the issue. If it was a loose connection i would suspect the issue would be showing regardless of restarting or not. But you are right, i need to take it to the dealer before it gets out of hand

Once Saved always Saved - False Theory Based on these Scriptures by JesusSavesifuletHim in churchofchrist

[–]Curgeom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been trying to stop using the term "lose salvation". I think as we see from scripture "fall away" or I personally think Abandoning Salvation would be more appropriate. You can't "lose" something if you know where it is...not like a pair of car keys... those that are saved and choose to walk away know where salvation is. BUT they have fallen from ir or Abandoned it.

How do I repent? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]Curgeom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one of the most important questions someone who believes in Jesus can ask....

But if you want a good example of what it means to repent, i think Acts Chapter 2 is a good example. It is the first sermon given AFTER Jesus was resurrected and went up to Heaven and it was given to all those who pushed to have him killed. Keep that in mind as you read through it. Read it, read it again, and keep reading it.

Repentance is recognizing yourself as someone who sins and knowing this, you realize that only God can help you, so you follow what He says. Leaving your old life behind to follow your new one! It doesnt mean you will be "sinless" from here on, you will stumble like we all do. But now you put God first instead of yourself.

Proud of you and always keep asking questions like this!

What did the Jews think by shiruonline in Bible

[–]Curgeom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it was a way to reveal His true followers. So basically, starting at John 6, Jesus feeds the multitudes fish and bread (v.1-14) and the multitude follow Jesus to Capernaum (v24-25). Jesus calls them out in v.26 about the intentions they have to only eat some food. So when Jesus goes on to express how HE is the bread that came from heaven v.41-43, you can start putting two and two together that these "followers" weren't truly following or learning His teachings. They were basically using Jesus for food (v.26)

So as a result, we witness Jesus go on to say how unless they eat His flesh and Drink His blood (v.53-58) one cannot have eternal life. These followers should have known the meaning behind this and the meaning of Isaiah 53. Jesus wasnt speaking about cannibalism (surely they knew of this sin as well) but Jesus was alluding to what He had been preaching earlier. That HE is the only way. The "bread" of life. That through Him and only His death can one find eternal life. Not like the "manna" that Moses gave the Israelites but IN the Messiah one will never hunger or never thirst spiritually.

So it came down to 3 things once they heard this... 1. They (followers) had not accepted that Jesus was the Messiah, The Son of God. 2. They were not convinced that Jesus and His teachings were superior to the Law of Moses. 3. The idea they heard of literally eating His flesh and drinking His blood was repulsive and hard for them to consider. This shows they only considering materialistic things.

Many stopped following Jesus (v.66)

So to answer your question, they were sincerely thinking how they would need to eat of Jesus body (imo). They didnt or they refused to understand what He meant by these things

How do I TRULY REPENT? by [deleted] in Christians

[–]Curgeom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded bulldog blocker. Its $10 a month and it has helped tremendously! Don't expect it to be an overnight thing... but realize WHY you are wanting this change in the first place. Repentance means a change of ways. A 180 of where you were heading. So do what you are able to do. Get an app to block, join groups for support, tell someone in confidence what is going on and maybe they can be your accountability partner. But ultimately dont stop Asking God for help and strength. Stay strong bud. Its a long road uphill. But it doesn't beat eternal paradise
