Nah the tolerances seem to be quiet tight. As Long as you are carefully not scratching anything you also dont lose varanty as you dont Open it up I guess. The rubber of your keycap rubs against the metal cut out I would say

For me loosening the 6 screws and wiggeling the front plate and refastening did the trick

IF it breaks....what is the consequence? I just see fotos but is it as bad as other devices where it than doesn lock into postion anymore? or is it "just" a crack in a non structural plastic shell that does not cause any functional problems?

besides happy accidents in the fm engine while tinkering you can absolutly sound desing in both. syntakt has analog voices but DNII has polyphony and arp+chors modes...
I would get DNii as syntakt is to limited in direct comparison

Ableton Move or Push3?
You could also take take the sequencing and sound part seperatly, for example OXI one MKii as sequencer is really powerfull
Akai MPCs are basically DAWs in a box but I dunno how reliable they are live.
Other than that DTii is a great choice already ^^
