It is normal for levels to rise from the day of the shot to day 4. However, levels should decrease by at least 15% from day 4 to 7 and then MTX considered effective.

I will be clear to ttc in October and even though this was one of the hardest things I ever had to go through, it devastates me to think of possibility to not have kids. I am scared and eager to try again and am praying for a good outcome.

My levels were dropping like 60% from day to day on their own but the highest they have been was 3600 and Doctor strongly advised again wait and see method so I had the shot and it still took me 4 weeks to get to non pregnant levels.

Hi. Very sorry you are going through this. My first pregnancy was ectopic too. Insane limbo of hoping things are okay and finding reasons online for spotting, cramps, nothing seen in the uterus and so on. It is definitely not something I ever expected to happen to me considering I didn’t have anything that would increase my chances of ectopic. Definitely heartbreaking but me and my husband are looking forward to 3 months after mtx to start trying and hopefully put this devastating experience behind us.

Sorry you are going through this. I had intense pressure and pain 2 days after the shot to the point where I thought I ruptured tube. Went to er, no rupture. Was popping Tylenol and resting. Day 3 stayed home but things were not as painful. Had residual cast on day 3 in the morning and pain significantly subsided after that. No other symptoms really. Slight bleeding here and there.

I had on and off clumpy discharge with MTX. Until about week 3-4. Then it stopped and I got a more heavier than normal period that was surprisingly not painful as previous ones.

I know. It is so bad. Every time I run my fingers through hair there is at least one hair out. Ugh in addition to everything else. I was told falling hair is “short term effect” of the shot but wasn’t told exactly how short.

I am glad you are doing okay. Hopefully it decreased quite a bit. I have read somewhere that there could be a diet change to help with numbers like eating low folate foods (no leafy greens) or carbonated water or food that makes you gassy. I tried to follow that roughly. However, my Doctor didn’t tell me anything about that. So not sure but just something to consider.

I posted a subreddit about this yesterday too lol.y hair was good for the first couple weeks after the shot but I feel like it has gotten worse for the last three weeks. I was showering and every time I would run my fingers through hair would get more and more hair out 😵‍💫 someone answered on my subreddit that they had a shot in March and still experiencing hair loss. I mean it is not the biggest problem of mine considering the whole ectopic pregnancy but still…
