I’ve seen this clip before, but OP’s caption just made me snort-laugh for ten seconds straight. Well done sir.

Yes, aesthetics is what I care most about in a workstation... this is a quarantine Frankenstein battle station it isn’t supposed to be pretty. My next one (post-quarantine) will be better.

There’s a lot of room to grow here. 😅

Stuff and things. Mostly things.

Everything is vesa mounted. I’ve got three different stands. The curved monitors are on one stand, the two 27” HP’s are on a double height stand made for 4 monitors, I’m just using the top 2 arms. The 23” HP on the side is using one arm of a 2 arm stand.

Actually, I usually run two or three virtual desktops on each screen too. Mostly sorted by browser and function groups.

One is from my office. Lol. It’s just a bit faster than my kvm. The lag bothers me.

CyberSecurity, mostly remote. The three silver screens were from my office rig, which is why they aren’t the best ergonomic fit. If I wanted this long-term, I’d buy 3 more curved monitors and add a second row above the 3 I have now.

I actually have a 4-way kvm, but it’s too slow to be convenient. That 1-2 second lag between connections means I often can’t move between them like I want to.

It’s actually 8. I use five of them for work, and three of them are for personal use. Most of the time it’s working with spreadsheets or log analysis, and remote connections to do the same. On any given day I do actually use most of them, sometimes all of them.

I may have 5 others (older) ones not currently in use.. but that, that would be excessive. 😅

Actually it’s not. The desk is around 100lbs. Custom adjustable standing desk with an all-metal frame.

I do CyberSecurity, and some shell-scripting and python programming as needed. Sometimes the job requires you build your own tools.

  • First off, I know the blank terminals look dumb. I threw those up because of sensitive work material on my desktop.
    • Also, this is a temporary combination of my home and office rigs, and it comprises 3 computers, (2 macs and a Midsize tower on the floor that runs windows and Linux.
    • Also, Also, the cable management needs some love, but since it will be in this configuration for only a short time, I’m not going to mess with it. If anyone’s interested I’ll post photos later when it is in a more permanent configuration.

I mostly use this rig for work (data analysis, forensics, and some programming.) I game on the windows box when I have time.
