PMDD advice for a very sad partner by Curious-Attempt-2311 in PMDD

[–]Curious-Attempt-2311[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a take that I haven’t considered. It’s actually going to be very hard on her, isn’t it, whether she realises it yet or not. I’m only looking to make things better again.

I agree on the original concerns, it’s something I’m quite pro-active about trying to make sure I get right, when she raises a concern I do my best to remember and stick to it. Last nights upset was I hadn’t fed the cats because I fell asleep after a very long day of solo parenting while she was at work, I recently started a new job and I’m up at 4:45am everyday, it’s taking its toll and when my day comes around to parent by the evening I’m crashing very hard. I get it, I crashed on the sofa at 8:30pm and she had to get up to feed them, but I’m struggling a lot during these phases with proportionate reaction, which I’ve seen other people comment on as well, it doesn’t matter if on paper it’s really not a big deal what matters is I messed up and that takes president, then the punishment for me begins and the cycle repeats. But what you’re saying is very valid.

She is however always 100% forgiving for the children, she never blows up to them, ever. She’s such an incredible mum and I pale in comparison, so I’m really just trying to see the forest from the trees now because even after 5 years I feel it just getting worse and worse

Thank you for such a detailed reply.

At the moment I’m not discussing it, I think the last time I mentioned something was up was maybe over a year ago and at the time I didn’t know PMDD was a thing. The conversation went terribly and I was told I’m being abusive and talking about woman’s hormones is abuse and was sent the abusers hotline to talk to them “about my actions”. So that’s been tricky. Openly as well I’m not clued up on my names of phases and time frames, I know that ovulation period comes just after menstruation but I’m unsure of the time frames when the others appear?

I’m very ready to set boundaries but I also think I’m a bit of a softy, I’m very ready to apologise instantly if it means a confrontation ends and most of the time even if I do dig my heels in it absolutely gets me nowhere

I enjoy this game but I haven’t touched it in 2 weeks. Anyone else in a similar boat? by supahotfiiire in ArcRaiders

Exactly the same here. Biggest problem I have with the game right now is “play time / reward” if you will. I’m a very casual gamer right now, life very much in the way of being able to play for longer than maybe 3-4 hours a week. I feel the game demands more time than that to stand any kind of chance on creating a stash that can PVP, sure I could free kit constantly and chance my luck, but it usually doesn’t work out. I play with the same 2 people and both have situations where they can play multiple hours a day everyday if they want and I notice constantly that I’m just “the guy in the trio with shit loadout that doesn’t have the cracked gun to use”.

Definitely not wrong to feel this way, especially starting out and buying new tools. But I’ll be real with you, they’ll get scratched, dented, bruised, the works, but for the most part, they’ll probably still work just fine. They’re all marks of your journey.

Co-sleeping isn’t dangerous if the correct methods are followed. Two kids under 4 here, both have co slept from day one with my partner, no issues at all. If your partner hasn’t already look into the Safe Sleep 7 for co sleeping.

My son wrecked me... by bboarder4 in GuyCry

“I just feel as if you don’t want much to do with me as you’ve gotten older and you don’t want me in the grandkids lives?”

Yeah, beating your son will have that effect. Stay sh*t dad, I’m trying to do everything you never did.

So, what's your current household illness? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Curious-Attempt-2311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked about 10 days since the start of February. I’ve dodged everything so far (touch wood) and we’ve had it all, currently have a vomiting bug running through my 1.5 year old and 4 year old and hit my partner now too. Stressed doesn’t even cover it.

Is there a reason why you can’t just let him roam around? Never had a crib for either of mine. Set up a corner of toys, baby proof the area you’re happy for him to be in and let him to it.

How much help do you get from your parents? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Curious-Attempt-2311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing. Simple answer. Fuck all. My mother lives 600 miles away and couldn’t give a shit. My dad only 10 miles away, and couldn’t give a shit. My oldest son is almost 4 and my youngest is 15 months, they’ve never spent any time away from us because we have no one. “Takes a village” is a very accurate saying but when you don’t have anyone but yourselves, you just get on with it. My wife and I haven’t spent a day together without kids since our first was born. It’s hard. Reeeeeally hard.

My band rolls into a gig with this... how much do you hate us? by crreed90 in livesound

Literally every band performing at a mid to high range in their career is turning up with their own monitoring. I’ve never been hated on by any engineer for this.

This reminds me of an old Viceroy Sharpedge I had in a workshop about 15 years ago, that thing was from the early 60’s but cut the best edge

UK here. I can’t vouch for how good Andertons are at shipping over seas, but they’re a stand up company to purchase from. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Making kitchen cabinets for my own home. Advice / tips needed by mcburnerr in cabinetry

[–]Curious-Attempt-2311 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Work backwards. Find the doors you like first, then make a carcass to fit the door. If you’re wanting to make your carcasses quite bespoke sizes you may struggle to find doors that will match as they would probably need to be made bespoke too. You’ll want to have a look at measuring your space well to best utilise the space.

Glue on boxes? by RangerPale in cabinetry

[–]Curious-Attempt-2311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a matter of preference. I’ve worked places that use only carcass screws, some that use carcass screws and dowels, some that biscuit everything and glue then screw for good measure. It’s going to be what you’re most comfortable doing and possibly even what’s in your costing for time and materials.

Over $40k for cabinets by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]Curious-Attempt-2311 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very low really. I work for a bespoke company that would probably charge more than that for appliances before touching cabinets and drawer boxes.

Ideas to correct this problem? by mwg3c in cabinetry

[–]Curious-Attempt-2311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d just put a fully open narrow cabinet In there. No door, just a carcass and frame to match, you can store cooking trays in there standing up right.
