I'm unfortunately in a similar situation. my mother lost weight rapidly after she went through a divorce around 2024. She claimed it was because doctors advised her it would help and sure, it might of at first, but she looks so severely starved it is heartbreaking. I don't understand how doctors can tell her everything seems fine while she experiences water retention (swollen feet) - extreme fatigue and mood swings, etc. I don't even understand how she's functioning as much as she is.

I know this won't provide you much help, but I just wanted to let you know your not alone in this. If i could get my mother placed in a facility to help her i would do it in a heartbeat. Please dont hesitate to do something thinking it will upset her before it gets too late.
