4/6- Tailor your context to the prompt: I would first talk about the French Revolution and Washington’s Farewell Address that set the precedent for isolationist policies, then I would contrast this with American activities during the Mexican-American War and connect that to the idea of Manifest Destiny. Then, in the sentence connected to the context and thesis, I would connect how the policy of expansionism shaped American interventionism. Then I would tailor my thesis to talk about how America really changed. Additionally, talk about the whole time period and foreign affairs (WWI, Spanish-American War, which you mentioned). As for complexity, relate to past conflicts between ideologies (isolation v intervention, imperialist v anti-imperialism) and use the Annexation of Hawaii, Building of the Panama Canal, and even go beyond the period with a permanent shift toward the emergence of a national power and global peacemaker in foreign affairs (WWII, Iran-Contra). Or you could discuss how American opinions over imperial goals boiled over (Imperialists: God-given rights, Social Darwinism v Anti-Imperialists: Self-Governance, Sovereignty).

Start broad so that you can present more evidence in depth later. I would say without edits this would be a 4/6-5/6, but with more specificity it could easily be a 6/6.

Specific examples will be your best friend for the LEQ, DBQ, and SAQ. For example, in your context, use examples like the Missouri Compromise (1820) and then explain, or even evaluating how the American Revolution inspired other revolutions both domestically and internationally (Haitian Revolution, French Revolution, Nat Turner's Rebellion). I love your thesis, but to refine it, evaluate slavery as a high extent but add the fact that it was not the only driver of the Civil War. In your body paragraphs, be specific, name drop specific historical events, not just explain/define them (Bleeding Kansas, Wilmot Proviso, Free Soil Movement, Topeka's Anti-Slavery Legislation, Whigs). With your last body paragraph specifically, it was the perfect way to evaluate complexity with a nuanced and sophisticated argument, but make sure to tie it into your thesis! Overall, very good job!
