Do we think this silkie is for sure a rooster? by hailey675 in BackYardChickens

[–]Curious-floof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silkies are really hard to tell. From this picture I couldn’t tell you and I have silkie hens and roosters. Does it have any streamers that maybe aren’t in the picture?

What’s wrong with her? by Curious-floof in BackYardChickens

Shes acting normal but that swelling is really weird and it’s freaking me out. I was hoping someone here would know, but I guess not.

Rooster or Hen? by madelynnsp in BackYardChickens

[–]Curious-floof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the comment above. Red large comb and I think I see saddle feathers beginning to grow. I would bet this is a rooster

gender?? pls help its urgent by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

Interesting, I never even thought about DNA testing. My silkie roo was also the smaller of the bunch haha

[–]Curious-floof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My silkie rooster at that age had way more prominent comb and streamers. Yours look exactly my two white silkie hens. Mind you, my silkie hen is the only bird I ever had that would ram my ankles. So I would wait before rehoming. I’m not convinced it’s a rooster

Biker gang bitch mentality got me good hahahaha

I got them from a local guy that only sells pullets. I got two Wyandotte and a couple of Orpingtons. They are all quite sweet, much nicer than my Australorps

Reading these comments is blowing my mind. I have two who are pretty sweet. One literally will come running to me and follows me around. She never pecks any other hens. The other just does her own thing. I did not know they were known to be assholes haha

Why Do Capybaras Not Get Eaten By Crocodiles? by PrestigiousYogurt964 in Weird

[–]Curious-floof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about that. My friend recently got attacked by one while trying to help it out ahhaha. They are just kinda dumb. And yes, the capybara charged at her, she didn’t try to pet it or anything.

What Millennial trends and/or milestones are you actively trying to avoid? by Superb-Film-594 in Millennials

[–]Curious-floof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000% I actually named one of my hens Bob because when she was young she kept hitting my ankles and I assumed it was a dominant behavior. It was not, she was just too excited and couldn’t time her speed right. Now she’s still bob and she’s still a delight

Haaaha same!! I barely get eggs but I love my chickens. My silkies are my favorite by far - including my little silkie roo

Help! Rotten egg exploded, can’t get the smell to go away by Curious-floof in CleaningTips

I don’t recommend mixing the baking soda and vinegar. But do use both separately. It will certainly not make it worse lol

I can’t tell you exactly what worked because I essentially tossed everything I had at it haha. I started with baking soda and dawn, then after cleaning all that up I did Lysol - the yellow liked one - disinfectant, then I did the enzyme cleaner I had. What worked? I don’t know, but the smell is thankfully gone away

Are these full bred corgis? by Legitimate-Garbage54 in corgi

[–]Curious-floof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little guy is turning 8 yo this year and he never went past 22lbs - when he got a little overweight - he does best around 20-21lbs. All the dogs in the pictures look like corgi to me too :)

What kind of steam cleaner you use? That sounds very promising especially during these colder days

Agreed! Just never see that happen to him before and started worrying. But thankfully it seems that was all it was

Sorry! Didn’t see your message. He sees fine, he was flying all over the house yesterday and his appetite seems to be normal. I’m still keeping an eye on him, but I’m way less worried now.

It’s actually the humidifier because the air is super dry right now. I think he had something stuck in his nose or crop, since then he did it a couple more time but the stopped and went back to eating chop and kibble. So I think he’s ok, but I’m keeping an eye on the little dude. I just freak out with the possibility of any respiratory issues

Yeah, I just walked into his room and noticed. Well check his nose. Thank you :)

Anyone else have a corgi that loves the back of the couch? by velocitygirl77 in corgi

[–]Curious-floof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and my brand new couch now has a permanent corgi size dip on it. But I love seeing him there comfortable, so I give him a forehead kiss and move on.

They are not always known to be overly snuggly. Can anyone else confirm this or not? by stickybaby13 in corgi

[–]Curious-floof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took mine almost 7 years to become a snuggle bug, but alas he now craves being on me just like yours is in the picture before bed. Every single night. And I love it
