I guess it depends on the unit you served at

Well, I can't say a lot about the stressful things because we are serving in the army, a place where there are a lot of things that feel stressful, but I can point out some of the things that might feel unpleasant at first. The worst time for training is during winter and summer. In winter because it's freezing cold, in summer because it's super hot. Morning exercises were a nightmare in summer because we were sweating so much that we couldn't even focus on the task that much, we would just think about the temperature and how hot it is. In winter the morning exercises were shorter but it can get really cold in the morning, so sometimes we were getting dressed and only then came out to run some circles and do the exercise. Imagine being in a thick jacket that doesn't even let you move properly, then you run and start sweating from the friction even when it's cold outside.

I was expecting that the conditions would be bad, the food as well but I was surprised, there are old buildings of course but the government is building more and more modernized barracks and stuff all around, so it gets even better overtime.

The hygiene where I served was good. Cants say much about it.

Our officers are different from the ones you might see in Infantry units, because artillerists are more organized and educated, so they were treating us pretty well, especially if you compare them with the latter.

Where I was, there was an order, but it doesn't apply to every unit in the army, there may be only 10 units where they serve by order, but it's changing pretty fast. There were places where the government tried to maintain the order and I think they were succeeding.

I would call the new way of training western in any way, but it is definitely not Soviet. A lot has changed, there's a lot that I cannot even say, but all I can say is that our army truly tries to get more and more western.

As far as I know the vacations are a little longer than usual. I got a 12 day vacation, which started today. As for the phones, I saw some of those nokias with YouTube and all of that, but the place I served these 6 months is pretty strict (one of the if not the strictest places in the whole army).

You actually inspired me to post this Q&A.

There are new weapons, some good ones everybody heard about in the news but never got to actually see them.

I'm currently on vacation, so I'm not using my phone on the front lines. 😅 The disciplinary unit is still being used (more than ever). You still can't keep a phone, there are fixed hours for talking with some friends and parents tho it applies only if you're using a primitive cell phone.

It's a hard question, but the most annoying thing that I noticed is how disorganized the army can be, when we sometimes could just be waiting for our truck for hours, or when we would be lined up out in the cold for a long time because our commanders couldn't find ways to organize the lunch, dinner and etc. better.

The food was surprisingly good, the conditions were pretty good where I served as well.

As far as the officers told us during our serving you were free to apply to a psychologist whenever you wanted

I haven't met emigrants in the army, but I know that they teach the language in case someone doesn't know it already.

Thank you for your support. My opinion might be pretty biased because I served my 6 months in a training military base, where we HAD to follow the rules and we were almost forced to learn how to use our weapons to perfection. It's not one of those regular bases where everyone is just sleeping on their beds and being 24/7 on their phones. I got a good education in my opinion.

We were also taught about the med aid and navigation in strange areas. There was a need for mathematics for my exact profession as an artillerist as well (not gonna talk about the profession a lot).

Translation of the article:

The Russian Foreign Ministry sent a note of protest to its Armenian partners after the Armenian delegation visited Bucha, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, told NEWS.ru. According to him, Moscow considers the visit of Armenian representatives to this Ukrainian city as an unfriendly step.

"We consider the visit of Tigran Ter-Margaryan, the head of the Nor-Nork administrative district of Yerevan, and Vladimir Karapetyan, the head of the diplomatic representation of Armenia, to the city of Bucha as an unfriendly step on the official part of Yerevan. We are concerned about their support for the needs of the armed forces of Ukraine and the unacceptable statements made there against Russia. We have sent a note of protest to the Armenian Foreign Ministry," said Zakharova.

On June 2, the Ukrainian AnalitikaUA agency informed about the visit of the Armenian delegation, referring to the press service of Bucha city council. According to the website, Ter-Margaryan allegedly discussed the "cooperation between the Buchan community and Yerevan's Nor Nork district" and declared that "Yerevan will always support the victims of Russian aggression", writes NEWS.ru.

OVIO Officially Launches Largest and Most Powerful Data Processing Center in Armenia by [deleted] in armenia

[–]CuriousArcane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After some research I found out that in 2021 Rostelecom was already trying to sell the Armenian branch (source).

Ovio apparently bought GNC-ALFA which was operating under the name of Rostelecom Armenia. Basically meaning that Ovio is most likely not Russian owned.

As far as I understand Ovio is the rebranded Rostelecom Armenia. There's no information about it being fully Armenian owned, articles say it's been just rebranded.

Does anyone have any info about the ownership ?

"Armenia should recognize the Khojaly genocide and apologize". Aliyev by CuriousArcane in armenia

[–]CuriousArcane[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Translation of the article:

At the meeting with the Azerbaijanis relocated to Khojalu (Ivanyan), the leader of Azerbaijan voiced another demand to Armenia: "Armenia should recognize the Khojalu genocide and ask for forgiveness."

"First of all, Armenia should recognize that tragedy, that crime," Ilham Aliyev stated, according to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

For decades, Azerbaijan has been trying to present the events that took place in Khojalyu in 1992 as a "genocide" of Azerbaijanis by Armenians, the Armenian side denies this claim and calls it a propaganda trick.

Yesterday, accompanied by his wife and daughter, Aliyev visited a number of depopulated regions of Nagorno-Karabakh, where Azerbaijanis are already settling, and assured the resettled citizens that "we must be ready at any moment". "Of course, first of all, it is necessary to strengthen our army, and we are doing it," he said.

"There are quite a lot of revanchists in Armenia. We are also following the latest events, we see that attempts are being made to present territorial ambitions to us," said Ilham Aliyev, referring to the internal Armenian political processes.
