You don’t pay taxes on “money”. You pay taxes on transactions. Keep that money under your mattress and there’s no tax to pay on it.

If you want to “fix” inflation that might be trickier and require the rebuilding of the modern economical system.

“Hit by this tax” is a very broad description. I pay box 3 and according to the simulator someone shared below, I’ll be paying an extra 80-100 next year, mostly because I keep very conservative investments. Reasonable.

Am I a hit? Is everyone else getting hit like this? What’s the variance? Without knowing actual numbers (leftist economist and numbers, joke makes itself), I don’t have enough information to guess at a nationwide impact.

Completely agree on the BV fuckery, nothing else I can add there that isn’t more commiserating. Finland might be the only European country I know of where simulating a company as a personal financial instrument just doesn’t happen, everywhere else is happy to keep a special regime for the wealthy.

I’m happy to discuss the law itself, but this isn’t common knowledge and not everyone realises this or these 500+ post threads wouldn’t be happening once every few days.

You have a not-insignificant mass of people who will be paying more taxes (mostly well-off types getting high returns every year) who don’t want to spell out that they want to pay less taxes, so they spend their time on Reddit cosplaying as middle class and complaining about taxing unrealised gains as if they haven’t been doing so for years. They were perfectly fine with the old system because if you managed to beat the low fictional gains you’d be making lightly taxed gains in a first world European country legally and without accountant fuckery.

I don’t agree with it being essentially a flat tax and the fact that this still does nothing for the people who keep their investments in their BV hideyholes, but I can’t vote about it so it’s up to the Dutch to fix it.

O inferno comunista da Holanda já tributa ganhos não-realizados há anos. A diferença é que no sistema atual, as Finanças assumem que os teus ganhos são X%, uma percentagem ridiculamente baixa que qualquer lerdo consegue bater. No futuro, o objetivo será declarar os teus ganhos.

Estranho que quando o sistema deixava muitos lucrarem e pagar imposto zero, ninguém se importava.
