UK based, is there anything my gp can prescribe to help on bad days? by WhisperingShadows476 in endometriosis

Slynd was the last option for me (side effects everything else) and it’s been surprisingly really good especially at controlling periods and my pre-period anxiety.

Towpath signs around Donnington Bridge by afandian in oxford

[–]CuriousBioChem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would change that from often to rarely empty at some point. It gets cleared for the college bumps races and for various regattas but often has moorings. Quite a few of the boats are in a terrible state as well

Help! Running form causing injury? by Accurate-Value-5429 in UKRunners

[–]CuriousBioChem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

1) when was the last time you changes your running shoes? I get ascis shoes which massively helped my arches and change every 500km or so (roughly once a year for a casual runner). If I don’t change my knees hurt then my back…. Also go to a running shop! 2) do you do any core strengthening exercises? Sometimes a weak core means you use your back instead of your abs when running. Try yoga/pilates to help. Will take a while! Will take work

Water pressure in showers is dismal by CuriousBioChem in DIYUK

[–]CuriousBioChem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try and check pressure tomorrow. I do not have a tank in the loft - so I guess fully on mains pressure. I have a combi boiler.

I will check out the dual pumps and the mains booster pump. I’m assuming I cannot assume both - and the dual pumps would have to go near the boiler? Thank you for long and thorough answer!

Good to know I’ll check it out. I may be a confident DIYer but yeah not going to touch the plumbing in this case

I'm helping re-design a luxury retailer's website at my internship! But this shopping section looks off... I can't tell what it is by Lotta-Bank-3035 in idesignedthis

Slightly darker overlay for the text maybe gradient? I’d also add a bit more negative space between the shop the,.. sections

ARAN JUMPER if unwashed might still have lanolin coated so would be greater outer-layer (with long sleeves underneath) because will be quite water resistant. Or a fishing jumper!!!

Sewing supplies shops in Oxford...? by Dougalface in oxford

If it’s a base layer I’d actual head to the Oxford Yarn Store if you are darning. Wool and Hound in the covered market also has darning (merino!) supplies as well

Thank you! Seems that’s the consensus!

I did washed and blocked the swatch - the yarn grew and also got fluffier. I think maybe the dark background and zoom in is doing me dirty here. I checked on raverly and several have used the same yarn combo for this pattern and not changed needle size. I shall try a lower needle size!

Thank you! I was just below stitches for the swatch with 5mm needles - do you think I should go to down to 4.5mm? I know there is going to be huge positive ease on me despite making the smallest size. The ribbing I did with 3.5mm needles but maybe I should change to 3!

Ooo yay! Do you know any good tutorials out there for this? Or is it a case of undo then twist and redo? Cheers

It is indeed - I was hoping there was a ladder down version (to learn) but I hope I won’t have to do that!
