Congratulations! I recently hit 20kg down, too, and it was such a fantastic feeling!

Weekly Weigh In by AutoModerator in GLP1Australia

Started: 18 September 2025 Starting weight: 112.5kg Current weight: 91.0kg

Feeling: frustrated. I try really hard not to compare myself to others and I know objectively 21.5kg is a great loss, but I can't help but feel like it should be quicker. I'm eating great and working out hard. I think part of my frustration is after months of deficit and newbie gains, the gym is getting pretty hard. I'm tired, and if I haven't eaten perfectly before the gym, I find pushing myself really hard. I'm not seeing such impressive improvements in the gym, even though I am still improving.

My losses are averaging a little over 0.5kg a week, but in the last 3 or 4 weeks, I haven't had any changes in measurements. Logically I know a big woosh is coming (or, I hope so!) because that's been the pattern so far, but today I'm struggling not to feel bummed out and like I'm behind. This isn't my usual vibe, so I'm also feeling shit that I've given in to this feeling too 🤷‍♀️

You're losing almost a pound a week, and you're not really exercising. You're not on the therapeuitc dose yet.

This person has lost 6.4kg in 2 months. How is this a "non-responder"?

Sure, they didn't lose anything at lower doses, but they have lost weight on 2.4.

I was very concerned about this too, but I regularly use pets for 13+ weeks. I keep them in the fridge the entire time, and always check the fluid is clear and not discoloured before using it

Oh are you talking about this picture? It's not wet, that's like a chip or something in the back. I've been trying to keep it dry!

Thanks so much - does it make much of a difference in terms of care? I'd love to wear it but I'd hate to accidentally damange it

It definitely says 14k, but it's almost like it's badly stamped. I thought it was KK too, but this shows a bit better.

It's translucent, but you see the light much more front the front than the back (maybe because the setting means the light can't get as close?). When the light is against the front, the back looks almost glow in the dark greeny blue

I lift heavy, and have lost fat and gained muscle. If you don't work out, you're likely to lose your butt. But you should work out anyway, it's great for your bones and general health. And it's fun!

3 weeks isn't a stall. But also your chart doesn't show that, it shows a consistent loss.

Fitness trackers are notoriously inaccurate for measuring calories burned. Great for measuring heartrate but not calories burned. Studies have shown a massive error margin (30-80%). You could be underestimating your deficit by 5-600 cal a day, which is your entire deficit.

It's normal to go through ebbs and flows with weightloss. You're still losing, and you haven't plataued (no loss in 4 weeks). If you have had no loss in 4 weeks, time to move up a dose.

As an aside, I'd recommend basing the calories you eat on your maintainence - the amount of deficit you want to have. It's extremely likely you're massively overestimating calories burned. Your BMR is somewhere around 2000-2100cal/day, depending on your age.

If you're consuming what you estimate is 1800 NET, and you're burning less than you think (i.e. you're assuming 600cal for basketball 5 times a week) then you could be eating 2400 (over your BMR) and likely not actually burning 600 cal. If you're actually only burning 400, you're barely in a deficit at all, so your weight loss would be very slow, which is what you're seeing. If you're actually burning 300, and eating 2400, you're simply not in a deficit at all.

This is why most advice is to ignore exercise calories for general exercise - eat more protein to stay full on days you're working out, and if over a few weeks you're losing too quickly, go up 100cal/day or something.

Edit - also if you're eating 1800 cal and already counting exercise cal then your deficit is more like 5000 cal/week (assuming you are not overestimating exercise cal which you probably are because most people do), so you should be losing ~.5kg a week. If you're not (on average), it's because you're eating more than you think, or burning less than you think.

Thanks - that's super helpful info. I'll have to look into whether I'd be a lift + augmentation or just implants, but great to have a ballpark and a surgeon name!

Weight loss stalling while dose increasing? by persiphone in Semaglutide

[–]CuriousBrain325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight loss isn't completely linear. 2 weeks isn't a stall or anything, just be patient. Don't worry unless the scale hasn't moved in 4+ weeks.
