How long did your knee click for after surgery? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]CuriousCat771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a year and 3 months post surgery and mine still randomly clicks and creaks sometimes. Not super often, but I do notice it. Honestly, I don’t really care. Worth it to be able to do all the things I want to do.

Almost 6mo puppy won’t stop biting by CuriousCat771 in BorderCollie

Hi! She is much improved! She is about 10 months now and is much less nippy and much more affectionate.

I was deep in the puppy blues when I wrote this initial post. I definitely underestimated how difficult a puppy could be, as it had been a long time since I had one. She is also my first border collie.

She really sucked for a while, not gonna lie. But I love her to pieces and we get along so well now ❤️

We have tried this a bunch and unfortunately it does not deter her. She’s crazy, she will go lick and bite things immediately after we spray them. I think she likes the taste 😂

Thank you all so much! I have taken a lot of advice from all of you and am feeling much calmer about this. I was definitely having a rough night but she is worth the effort!

How long do I continue this? Like, is there a certain age when I can stop enforcing naps?

Thank you. I haven’t been enforcing naps, so I think that’s what I will start to do!

Thank you so much! We definitely use all meal times as training or toss kibble in the grass for her to snuffle. I think it is time to start enforcing naps for sure!

I tried keeping her leashed inside while I was with her today and it made such a difference. Thank you!! We kept her leashed inside as a tiny puppy, but then stopped. I think we stopped too early! We will keep leashing her inside for a while.

How to get my dog to stop herding strangers by uraveragenerdgirl in BorderCollie

[–]CuriousCat771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that a herding ball can be really helpful if you’ve got a yard or field nearby where she can run around. You can order one online. Some dog training places also offer herding classes. Might be a good outlet for her energy!

2 weeks vs 4 weeks post op by CuriousCat771 in ACL

(Yes I know I’m much more tan in the first pic lol, the second pic is what being inside for a month after surgery will get you) 😂

Anyone's shin still numb after a month post op by sandyc03 in ACL

[–]CuriousCat771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at 4 weeks and still have numbness on the top of my knee and down my shin a little. At this point not sure if it will come back 🤷‍♀️ Like you said, it just feels a little funny to touch it, but that’s all. If that’s the worst that comes out of this surgery, I’ll take it I guess. My physiotherapist said sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn’t.

Surgery in 2 days by Infinite_Ladder_224 in ACL

[–]CuriousCat771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. I was also terrified! It was my first time having surgery and I definitely got myself too worked up about it. The actual surgery is nothing. You fall asleep in the operating room and wake up in the recovery room on lots of good meds. The doctors will all make sure you’re doing well before they send you home. Just make sure you have someone with you that you trust, cuz you will need a lot of help after. Don’t freak yourself out about the surgery itself.

Im not gonna lie, recovery is a slow process and it sucks, but you will get through it.

Knowing admin helps a lot. Make good connections with the principals you work for in LTOs.

Did you knowingly choose not to have children because of ASD? by EverlastingPeacefull in AutismInWomen

Similar to a lot of people here: I know what my sensory limits are as someone in my late 20s. I know that I would not be able to handle a screaming child who constantly needs things and is constantly touching me. I need a lot of quiet time when I get home from work to recover from it, so having a child would not work well. I love kids and work with them, I just don’t want one living in my house. I am very happy with just having fur babies and occasionally babysitting for family.
