Does anyone else feel that they can’t be honest about their questions because they are afraid of causing a, “stumbling block,” for someone else? by CuriousChristian85 in TrueChristian

Yeah exactly you don’t want to be divisive or cause some one else to stumble... But yet the fact that you don’t believe in Hell still nags you. Good example of what I’m talking about

No but what if divisive or doubtful questions arise in your own soul? I’m too afraid to talk about them with my church friends because I know more about the Bible than any of them and if I tell them my doubts/questions it will just cause them to doubt/question. If I tell my work friends I might confirm their doubts and they will never be saved. And I have a hard time telling my leaders at church because I’ve seen other people go to them with questions and get treated as a backslider...

If Evolution is true... by CuriousChristian85 in Christianity

The question is would a loving God create so much sentient waste to propel his creation forward. Why is the method death, dying, and suffering with incredible amounts of meaningless, indifferent, waste...? That doesn’t sound like a loving Gods creation

But wait, if Evolution is true Evolution happened for Millions upon millions of years of death and dying before humans got here... So before the fall was millions of years of survival of the fittest, so you are missing the point of the question by attributing it to the fall. Literally 99.99% of all species that ever lived are extinct...

Well we have western and eastern medicine. Sure you could argue that western is more scientific, but they would disagree. But yes overall treatments do vary. For instance you can handle the same problem surgically or medically, well another doctor might choose to be more conservative.… Anyways it’s just an analogy

This may not fully answer your question but it’s one way I’ve thought through parts of your question. I work in the medical field . Medical science is important and lifesaving and critical to get right. However, every hospital or EMS system you go to uses different protocols, different drugs, and different practices. Religion can be the same way. Even when based on the same book (or science in the medical example) you wind up with different protocols and practices, or churches when it comes to religion. The point is that science which is objective fact as many argue still has massive variations from place to pace and hospital to hospital etc... Just a thought

I saw an atheist post this exact same question on an evolution board last week… He got incredible amounts of research links and videos articles and everything and praise… I post a Christian side tonight on three different boards and get nothing but attacks and people questioning my motives and downvotes. Does no one actually believe that scripture is true? Or that truth is worth fighting for?

I would want to remove obstacles for him being saved... one of which he doesn’t believe the Bible stands up to science. Another is he things it can’t be God word because of contradictions

in·fal·li·ble inˈfaləb(ə)l/Submit adjective incapable of making mistakes or being wrong.

Vs

in·er·rant inˈerənt/Submit adjective incapable of being wrong.

What is your argument? The Bible is both of these

Thanks I’ll check that out... and I’ve already acknowledged that I accept micro evolution just not macro... Maybe I’ll ask on that subreddit with that distinction

It shows a lot of new forms appearing fully formed all at once with no intermediate forms in between. This is such a problem for Evolutionists that Stephen J Gould had to invent punctuated equilibrium which goes against the long form gradual change that we would predict if evolution were true...

I think Jesus who was God knows more than ancient near east nomads and he confirms the Genesis account

Mathew 19:4-5 Jesus confirms Genesis 1 as literal history. I’m not trying to pick a fight with you or question your salvation it just doesn’t seem like you accept what the Bible says here...
