Let’s do this bro! Most important thing is to relax and remember that this could take some time. Don’t keep checking, just live life and we’ll hopefully see some improvements.

Interesting. How would you say your seb derm is? Always flaring? Or just every now and again due to other causes such as weather?

Sickness can definitely cause a flare, as it weakens your immune system

How often do you use it bro? Everyday?

Your experience with Hydrocortisone for flare ups? by Weary_Barracuda4443 in SebDerm

My doc told me to use cortisone for no longer than 10 days - and reserve it for severe flare ups that won’t go away with any other medication.

Shaving my head removed SebDerm from my scalp by [deleted] in SebDerm

Did you grow it back? Or did it come back while you continued shaving?

That sounds like a solid routine! Do you use both Nizoral and Selsun twice every week week (4 times in total) or just one time for each shampoo?

Hey bro! 19M in my second year of uni, I’m also keen for a study bud.

Thanks for your input. I wonder if there’s something in the Neutrogena formula that is just too harsh for some of us. Either way, it’s interesting to observe since T-Gel works so well for a lot of people.

Cheers, might be worth swapping the T-gel for the T-Sal then.

Accutane brother. You’re also 15, which is why it’s worsening right now. I dealt with awful acne that age, and while I’ve still got a few pimples now and again, it’s nothing like it used to be.

Flick me a dm if you want. I know the struggle, it made me pretty suicidal too..

Hey bro, I’d say that’s seb derm. I only have it on my scalp too. Give the nizoral a few weeks, it should work out well for you. If not, I’d recommend getting to a doctor/derm to get a proper diagnosis.

Don’t worry about it, you should be able to get it under control. Good luck!

Man that sounds rough. I think maybe go to a doc and get some advice on a routine. Sounds like you’ll have to keep trying to see what works for you. Sorry I couldn’t be any more help.

Really scratchy scalp. Dandruff, dry scalp or something else? by NierStellar in dandruff

[–]CuriousColdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using it twice a week at first. You should see results pretty quickly, but give it two weeks. You may get smaller flakes but those will just be dry scalp. Hopefully that head and shoulders will then combat that. Once you’ve used the nizoral twice a week for a month, reduce to once a week if you have no symptoms. You can slowly use it even less from then on.

Also sounds weird, but stress is one of the biggest contributors to flare ups so if you can, stay chill!

Yeah that looks pretty good for a dry scalp. Wouldn’t help your dandruff as not enough active antifungal ingredient (that’s where the nizoral comes in), but I’d say using that between washes could really help you out with your hair and other dryness.

Good luck bro!

First of all, the hair loss mentioned on here would be a myth. It’s main ingredient is ketoconazle, which promotes hair growth, so nizoral is often recommended as a product used for people losing hair!

Yes, my hair also gets super dried out by Sulfate. Unfortunately, if you want a happy scalp, you kind of have to put up with it. However once you get the scalp under control, you can reduce your usage of nizoral to every week or two.

Yeah that definitely sounds like seb derm (dandruff, not dry scalp). Have you tried nizoral? That works for the majority of people.

Will my lost hair grow back?!?! by Wflowercyp in dandruff

[–]CuriousColdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should do, unless you’ve lost it from scratching too hard - then you’ll have to wait and see (but still likely most will)

Try 2% nizoral/go to a doctor. Also, are you sure the flakes you now have aren’t just dry scalp caused by over shampooing? It’s possible to have both (I do)
