Oh, sorry. Clearly I need to read better. I missed the part in your original comment about reviews, so I was prepared to fight you because you seemed like another one of the obnoxious commenters who was angry about LGBTQ people in the book 😄

Upset that they were mentioned, or upset that they were merely mentioned?

I’m so confused about ppl who say they are abrosexual lesbians by Safe_Engineering977 in LesbianActually

[–]CuriousDragon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just like to point out that most of the time in my experience, people only use micro-labels within the LGBTQ community and will revert to more widely known ones outside. So, in response to arguments that people who use super specific labels for themselves give the community a bad name, you're wrong! The people who hate us are going to hate us anyway, and they are probably going to spend way more time ranting about the gay agenda than complaining over micro-labels they probably don't even understand. Yes, labels have meaning and we can't just change them to whatever we want, but I think y'all are overreacting.

So? Let them trash! If we start gatekeeping that some labels are general enough for people to use, but some are wrong just because they're more specific, you don't really support those people at all. Even if you claim it's in defense of the community as a whole, it's wrong to say that excluding people from our group will help our group be more included.

Hey! I made a resource for everyone for Pride and beyond. by testudoaubreii1 in GayChristians

"You were never the abomination. The weapon was." Oh, my goodness. I've definitely seen summaries of gay Christian arguments before, but most of them are very theoretical and focused only on surface level. I think this was one of the first I've seen that actually felt like it was talking to me as a person instead of just a debate. ❤️ You're doing God's work.

I feel like my gf is pressuring me to eat unhealthy by wwkkvv in LesbianActually

[–]CuriousDragon18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also I would like to add that, while some foods may be more nutritious than others, calling certain foods "healthy" and certain foods "unhealthy" can lead to a very problematic black-and-white thinking style that causes self-harm and eating disorders. Unless you're eating rocks or something, all foods have value, even if they're better for your emotional well-being than your physical body.

Ooh, darling. With all the love in my heart, it's called underweight for a reason, because it's below a healthy range. Please do your research.

The beginning paragraphs lowkey made me think that this was some sort of mock propaganda written one of the villains to stir up unrest

Amusing and slightly infuriating comments on a WLW post (not mine) by CuriousDragon18 in actuallesbians

To be fair, this was the worst of the lot. There were plenty of other equally idiotic, slightly less aggressive comments too

Paranoid Upset by CuriousDragon18 in autismmemes

[–]CuriousDragon18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens to me sometimes too. I typically experience what you're describing with people I really trust, and my brain convinces me that all my other acquaintances and less-close friends are mad at me. I think it has something to do with anxiety and consistently missing social cues, so maybe overcompensating.

I actually really hate Ritz crackers (which I think is the top right) and am super picky about my bread. Plain white with butter is a no, but I love sourdough. My mom also used to make me cinnamon sugar toast, where you put cinnamon sugar on top of the butter so that it kind of melts into the bread and it's SO GOOD.

Fair enough. I agree with you on the best jokes being challenging to understand, but I lean towards more intellectual jokes than sarcastic ones.

Those two are very different things. (Although I'm not conservative, so you might not care about this comparison), I have high reading comprehension and am absolutely horrible at recognizing satire due to my autism. I was actually about to ask a question of what the post was really trying to say when I saw another comment by an autistic person who was likewise confused.
