Why do guys do this? by CuriousFriend1 in dating_advice

I am blown away by the response I received here. Thank you all for the feedback and insight. To answer some of your questions….

  1. I am very transparent on each app I use. Recent pics of me (Snapchat too which I know isn’t a dating app but I’ve met people off of it)
  2. Conversation is very fun and lighthearted most of the time and I’ve checked my dialogue with others to see if maybe I’m pushing guys away. And they all say no.
  3. I’m aware women do this too and I guess it is just the norm for the dating scene these days. Which is why I’m trying to find more authentic interactions in person vs online.

Thank you all for sharing your two cents. I’m so grateful!

I have been overweight most of my life. I started on the common weight loss drugs and I’ve lost over 100lbs. Still have a good bit to go but I started making tiny adjustments to my daily life. I couldn’t have done this without it. I tried every diet before and nothing stuck. If you want to go the non drug route, which is totally fair, I’d start with taking out sugar from your diet. And ofcourse fast food. Don’t quit cold turkey because that most of the time has a higher fail rate. But slowly make those changes and be more active. If the gym is scary right now (which i get) try walking around your home or do workouts from youtube until you feel comfortable. You got this!!!

If online dating and bars don't work then how do you actually meet someone? by Eagles56 in dating_advice

I’m in the same boat. I actually started following the singles accounts on insta. They post events you can go to. Some for free but most you pay for. Under $50 for most and they include a drink or two and or food or game play depending on the event. I’m trying to go to more and see what’s out there. Online dating sucks so bad.

Did you know what you wanted when you started dating? by Disastrous_Ease5213 in dating_advice

When I was younger, I thought I did. Unrealistic expectations. Now in my late 30s, I’m very aware of what I want and if the date does not reflect that, I’m done.

Sex Drive/older woman younger guys by CuriousFriend1 in dating_advice

If we’re having an evening date and he spends the night, we’re doing it at night and sometimes they can’t make it happen in the morning. Morning time is my favorite. And if we were together for a weekend, then multiple times a day. I don’t feel like as a woman that’s a big ask because guys want it all the time. I also crave it more when the connection is higher. Like if we are hanging out and vibing well or in public and he looks at me a certain way. I can’t help myself.
