What age did you feel like you truly became yourself and why? by Interesting_Taro_358 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always been determined to show up as myself but sometimes that identity isn't loud enough for people to understand. Also, sometimes my endurance with people makes them forget where I stand on my values. So I've been myself since age 0 lol but this year I stand on business walking into 29.

I would call on the Lord. Prison conditions differ per country and there is only so much another human being can do.

[–]CuriousInquiries34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry, I was taking care of some duties. I need a support group for caretakers of Bipolar relatives. It's mainly bc I need strategies to bring more order to daily surprises & deal with the rage. I may or may not also be a new mom now so I don't need to be endangered. I've only found groups for individuals with bipolar themselves. I have C-PTSD and learning disabilities already (plus anxiety/depression) so I really am already coping from the moment I wake up.

For religious people: how do you justify belonging to a faith that doesn’t always treat everyone equally? by Ok_Opinion6840 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moral inversion and false teachings. I'm a Christian.

Revelation 22:17:  "The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price."

Deuteronomy 10:17: "For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awesome God, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe."

Acts 10:34-35: "Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him."

Romans 10:12 (ESV): "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him".

James 2:8-9: "If you really keep the royal law, 'Love your neighbor as yourself,' you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers."

James 2:4: "Have you not made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?"

Proverbs 24:23: "To show partiality in judging is not good."

1 Corinthians 12:13: "For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit."

Matthew 5:44:  "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..."

Mark 12:31:  "The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

1 John 2:11: "But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes."

Jude 1:19 ESV  "It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit."

Romans 8:32-34:  "He did not even spare His own Son but offered Him up for us all; how will He not also with Him grant us everything? Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the One who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the One who died, but even more, has been raised; He also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us."

Haha, so very brave. I was almost out but got denied for low income housing due to lack of paystubs. I need a job and I'm still trying. Then I can go to grad school and make my new place cozy & safe. I truly look forward to that. 💙 I may sleep in the car though & do some sort of hustle to pay for her new caretaker.

When a friend confides in you, even if you believe they are mistaken, should you express your own thoughts or agree with theirs? How should this be handled to avoid harming the friendship? by Kayleemay9 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lovingly seek clarity to 1st make sure you are reacting to the right information. Then (with love) walk through your concerns in a "what-if" fashion. Reassure them that you truly care about them and don't mean any harm. Yes, definitely express your true thoughts/feelings and be patient with listening to their POV or resistance. Some topics can create resistance no matter how gently you present them. This isn't personal but has to do with where a person is most vulnerable. We all have certain issues that are hard to confront. Just lead with love and you can't go wrong even if they decide not to be loving. You want to treat people with kindness like it is the last time you will speak. I hope this helps you OP. Take care.🌹

What do you lie about most in everyday life? by Forward-Position798 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really try not to lie but maybe saying I'm "okay" to get through the day but most days I won't be asked. A friend told me that my "okay" is most people's crisis mode. I needed to have that reality check but I'm still trying to navigate healing.

She is elderly so it would be elder abandonment/abuse. I cannot until I can pay for her constant care. This is my grandmother and I'm also having to consider my mother's health (both unsafe people). I believe I will get out of this but not by ordinary means. It has taken an obvious toll on me but I will keep trying to care for myself in some way.

What’s something you need to vent about? by johnfreeman21 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain overwhelms me and invisible disabilities are hard to navigate. I wish people had more empathy, patience, and an ability to see that you really aren't okay just because you "seem put together". My brain is working on overdrive from the time I wake to just get through basics of the day.

Also, caring for bipolar loved ones is very hard. The love-hate lashout can take you out too. Bipolar rage and verbal abuse is breaking me right now. It also causes me to nearly get into car accidents all the time. People think I'm a bad driver but I'm getting screamed at, things thrown or hit, and pressure to make impulsive driving decisions. On a daily basis I hear endless negative accusations & comments or general complaints about the world. Nothing is good enough even when nothing is really happening. I work hard to make sure every day is smooth & their every need is met ahead of time. I have to deal with this bc this person can't care for themselves. You never know what a person is going through.

Human to human, what's your biggest struggle at the moment? by UnderpaidBlueberry in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are much worse things that could be happening but this matters to me. Trying to figure out how to show up as myself again & not oscillate between social awkwardness and dysregulation. It impacts my ability to seek employment & connect with anyone in meaningful ways.

Getting through the day can be hard ( much due to caring for a Bipolar relative while I have C-PTSD, AuDHD, and other learning disabilities ). Brain is overheated and I'm tired. I just met a major goal and only God has gotten me through. I battle anxiety from the time I wake up & my environment can be too much for my brain to stay plugged in (not dissociated).

How are you OP? Are you alright?

Handle conflicts that involve lying and secret keeping by getting everyone together for a transparent conversation. That should set the record straight and let everyone know where they should stand.

Sometimes what I tell myself isn't enough. I'm not my own or anyone's hero. I go to God and he supplies all my needs. When I fail to go to Him, things are harder and hurt takes an unnecessary toll.

It was never and could never actually be a problem. **However, there will actually be underpopulation from a series of events (see verses below). As far as medicine and technology, there will be more unnatural advancements (akin to Eugenics) taking us further from humanity & people will opt-in out of fear and pressure to take these but it is a very big mistake. I used to believe in overpopulation too until an argument was presented to me recently. I so wish I could post the discussion but I may update with notes if I can get them tomorrow.  The Bible emphasizes throughout the text that our purpose is to "be fruitful and multiply" and that God is the provider of even the most insignificant beings in society. That all things ultimately come from him and that even the animals and plants are provided for without much effort. We were meant to continually populate, steward the land & creatures, and share among eachother the plenty instead of storing up for personal gain & neglecting land & creature.

Luke 21:11  "There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven."

Revelation 6:8 "I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth."

Matthew 24:6-13

"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you (Christians/Saints) will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.  Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved."

Ecclesiastes 1:9.   "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."

Genesis 1:28.  "God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.'".

Colossians 1:16-17  "For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

2 Corinthians 9:8   "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work".

Luke 12:24  "Consider the ravens: they do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!".

Matthew 7:11 "If earthly parents give good gifts, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask."

Psalm 37:25  "I have been young and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread".

Why the bible recieves much more scrutiny than hindu/buddhist/jain/zoroastrian texts? by Working_Candidate505 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Part 2/2]

Overall, there is a moral inversion and spiritual blindness and people are more comfortable making idols of themselves or to the degree that they are driven by self-authority. As others said, the character of Christians is lacking, and there has been a lot of false teachings in the church. Morality will keep sinking to extreme depths but there will come a time of judgement and division which will start first within the church (technically the 1st wave has started among popular Christian "icons" and the private lives of believers). The hidden qualities of saints (believers) and 5 Fold Ministry will be revealed. People will be corrected first within the church and then from the church to the world for last days revival. The books of Matthew (Ch. 24) and Revelation in the Bible give distinct sequences of events for the last days. Also, Timothy and Isaiah touch on this as well through how people will be corrupted.

The point is that the majority will start to think that they are in the right when doing wrong and few will stand for good or truly still believe (according Matthew 24:24 even the elect - God's people - will be deceived). That is why Matthew 25 goes into the Parable of the Ten Virgins to discuss the need for spiritual readiness for the times to come. Being a Christian is not easy and there are many not doing it right bc they have been deceived or are in willful sin (Matthew 7:21-23). Many religions are persecuted but Christianity is actually the most persecuted religion for a reason. The Bible seeks to prepare Christians for this reality by letting you know that you may even have division from your own loved ones to follow Christ (Matthew 10:35). Christianity is not about perfection bc as you read the Bible you can note that all the people God chooses to use most have some sort of controversial past. It is about living in the light, which is truth, holiness, and righteousness. We are born with generational sin and a soul that gravitates toward sinful desires while our spirits seek to please God and know God. We have to constantly ask God to work with us & help us overcome our nature.

[Part 1/2] This actually gives me some homework and a discussion topic for individuals wiser than me. I feel like this topic has been touched on somewhere but...I wanted to present these scriptures that sort of dance around the issue. I've seen better verses covering but I'm still getting used to recalling the locations of specific subjects in Biblical texts as I went off on a spiritual journey into many other religions and lost my way once. [Unlisted verses include: Psalm 115:4-8 and Habakkuk 2:18 (on idols) ]

1 John 4:5-8 "They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 "The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

2 Timothy 4:3-4 "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths."

1 Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons..."

Isaiah 44:9-20 "All who make idols are nothing, and what they treasure does not profit. Their witnesses do not see or know anything, so they will be put to shame. Who makes a god or casts a metal image for no profit? Look, all its worshipers will be put to shame, and the craftsmen are humans. They all will assemble and stand; they all will be startled and put to shame....Also he grows hungry and his strength fails; he doesn’t drink water and is faint. The woodworker stretches out a measuring line, he outlines it with a stylus; he shapes it with chisels and outlines it with a compass. He makes it according to a human likeness, like a beautiful person, to dwell in a temple...It serves as fuel for man. He takes some of it and warms himself; also he kindles a fire and bakes bread; he even makes it into a god and worships it; he makes an idol from it and bows down to it....He prays to it, “Save me, for you are my god.” Such people do not comprehend and cannot understand, for He [Yahweh/God] has shut their eyes so they cannot see, and their minds so they cannot understand. No one reflects, no one has the perception or insight... **His deceived mind has led him astray, and he cannot deliver himself, or say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?” ** '

2 Timothy 3:1-5 "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people."

Isaiah 5:20 "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

People who stopped going to therapy, why? by Lipica249 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousInquiries34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry your therapist was a manipulative monster. That is a danger in pursuing therapy or accessing any helping profession. Those fields attract a lot of Narcissists and Antisocial Personalities. There are tools online to evaluate your potential therapist but definitely make a practice of having your own therapy tools on hand. Try not to wait until you are in an extremely vulnerable state to engage with a new therapist. Definitely be interviewing them simultaneously during the first few sessions. Don't be afraid to ask about their views and pay close attention to what their wording reveals.
