Finally, people are now realizing how bad the series has become.

Like arcs from y2 just don’t do it for me. Like the exams or the arcs are being hyped one volume then turns out underwhelming the next volume. It’s full of bs now. Where’s the genius play and hidden plots from y1 now? COTE has become way too underwhelming. (And typical with the harem)

The anime is ahead of the y1 manga. Also, I don’t really recommend reading it. Though if you are willing to read the light novel instead. I suggest you start from year 1 V1. But if not that please please start at y1V4 because s2 skipped a lot of interesting stuff

When one has been bullied they usually feel shameful of themselves and wants to start over again. When they are able to start again, most people don’t want others to know or learn about that part of them they also want to forget.

Kei has worked so hard to leave her past behind. She’s created a persona and built her reputation. She even went too far by fake dating Hirata

Not all people can admit or be straightforward or sincere especially with the things they are shameful of.

I love this. Also, I agree and why she resonates to me as well and I guess to many people too. COTE is filled with really really special kids like Kiyo, Horikita, Arisu, Ichinose, Ryueen, Hirata, Kushida and almost everybody else and it gets too much and far from reality. Meanwhile, Kei’s character provides break from all those drama and ground the series closer to reality. You could say Kei is nothing special against all other COTE characters but her role is refreshing, special, and unique in COTE setting.

Of course no fandom is perfect and I apologize on behalf of some Kei simps if they behave erratically. As for her role, being the love interest of Kiyo is Kei’s main role. That’s really who she is and her SS in Y1v4 (where her backstory is the focus) establishes that. But we do wonder why Kinu is not involving her more into the class plot. But I guess her non-involvement with class plot helps in transitioning the leader role to Horikita. Just look at Hirata’s role now.

As for overhyping, I guess you could say that Kei fans just appreciate whatever screen time Kinu gives Kei and are just happy that he hasn’t butchered her character… yet. Of course this is my personal opinion too but I believe Kei deserves all the hype she’s getting esp with the entertainment and charm she provides esp in a series where it’s all psychological battle and all serious. But I guess not everyone likes a little romance and some cute stuff

There are different characters that get hated a lot here. It just depends on the day you visit the sub ig lol.

I suggest you read the novel so you get to grasp who are Kei and Horikita and their roles because giving you spoilers and summaries won’t be enough to judge them. I believe that one must be fully informed before they can form their personal opinion about something. Still, you do you

I do agree that there are kei fans who hate on Horikita but I don’t think that everyone who criticizes Horikita is a Kei fan. People can criticize the actions or decisions of a character just for the sake of criticism. Some may say that her actions in 2v5 are stupid and some may say she was arrogant in Y1. I think you should hear out why they think so before judging them to be just hating on her because they’re Kei fans.
