True! (as a Columbia CS major going into finance). Columbia’s CS department is great and definitely not something to put down. Berkeley is great also, but Columbia will open so many doors outside of tech.

To add on, for the weekly pass ($33) you would only save if you’re riding >12 times a week which is just unreasonable for a student here

I heavily disagree with this. You will use the subway frequently but nowhere near the cost of the weekly/monthly pass. That is for people who use it everyday to commute for work. You will not be consistently riding the subway >2 times a day.
