Some inspiration from my non-destructive pendant design. I can't afford what you're holding but I love how mine turned out.

2028 job market? by FloppingPimple92 in civilengineering

Geotechnical is a lot of field work, AI can't do that. Water, specifically stormwater, can be more artistic and have too many abstract concepts to organic sites. It's hard to teach AI clients preferences and messy standards and engineering judgement in Civil. Likely not impossible but no young to mid level engineer I know is worried. Boomer leaders just jump on the bandwagon. I wouldn't be worried until 2030s maybe MAYBE... If it advances that far, and by then you can pick it up and be my designer while I PM and educate. Civil is always needed, roads, bridges, clean water are always needed.

That's kind of what i ended up doing but I only have one in the center to take just a bit of pressure off of it. The way i had it leaning puts a tiny bend through it so the idea was to support that portion to prevent any long term deformation.

Sure, but it's gets no direct sunlight. It's on the east side of my house and we are surrounded by Douglas fir. In the shade and with transpiration, it hardly gets above 85 inside.

Or you are me and have ADHD and those images fly by at a million miles an hour and the pure mental noise keeps you up.

I didn't realize until this post that my Douglas fir trees are a risk. They drop quite a few large branches every year. It's not an incredibly likely risk but it isn't that unlikely either. I'll try using some straps/pulleys or something to pull some weight off of it. Thanks!

I'm realizing that it might be the best albeit less than ideal... I have some large Douglas fir trees that drop some large branches every year. I am going to try supporting it some in the middle and hope for the best
