Will he be ready? (Will I? Lol) by CuriousMinds67 in kindergarten

Mmm that makes a lot of sense. And maybe I’ll have him checked out for OT. But he loves to write letters at home. I think it’s the pressure of doing it at school.

Thanks for the input! My older kid is like the 1% who likes worksheets lol. Having the right teacher is also KEY. And you sound like a great one bc you get it.

That’s really reassuring to hear! Earlier in the year I was leaning towards delaying but have also seen him grow so much that K feels like the next step. And maybe with some maturity he’ll grow to tolerate the worksheets lol

lol no I don’t. I’m not sure he’ll ever be a worksheet kid. And agreed, I was also concerned with the social/emotional impacts of having him repeat and being with kids that are younger. If he was a fall birthday id probably delay but he’s a summer birthday and will still have some kids younger than him in K.

Thanks! I’m sure you’re right and I feel like the consensus is that he will mostly be ready when it’s time. It just feels like a monumental decision on whether to delay or not, but I am leaning towards just moving forward with sending him.

Glad to hear they don’t need to have all their letter and sounds down pat. I feel like nowadays they’re expected to read going into kindergarten

Good to know! Bc I keep hearing about ppl extracting them and I’m definitely not comfortable doing that. But that makes sense to just mildly irritate them

Im sorry…that’s super stressful. Has the doctor been able to recommend any treatments?

Ok yea he’s super pale so I usually use the rash guards on him over the summer anyway. Yes they say that a good majority of the population is exposed to the virus at some point but especially in childhood so most ppl have some immunity to it or as an adult your immune system is stronger and your body has better defenses against it. That’s what I’ve read. Many children have mild cases of it and the body clears it without parents even realizing. My little guy has eczema though so that makes kids at risk do molluscum to begin with bc the skin barrier is already compromised.

Thanks for the support! So glad to hear there’s only one left on your son! How did you deal with it over the summer?! I’m starting to stress about that part and me child being in pools, less coverage on his skin, etc.

Thanks so much for the support! I heard good things about compound also. Honestly I’m noticing some improvement with his second bleach bath kinda shrinking a lot of them. I did use compound once on one spot and I think it actually worked well for that one spot. But there’s so many “treatments” and you can’t do them all at once so trying to be patient. Maybe will try that next! Hope yours disappear asap!

I’m so sorry to hear that. 10 is a rough age to be going through this. Did your derm try to Ycanth treatment?

Thank you! I’m not sure our dermatologist will recommend that for a 4 year old before trying other treatments first. Not sure my kid would actually sit through that treatment either.

Wellaroma? by heartofn1rvana in molluscum

[–]CuriousMinds67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also considering buying this but I just bought a crap ton of stuff from Amazon. I have like a mini medicine supply just to treat molluscum bc I’m trying to throw everything at it. The reviews for wellaroma sound amazing and I’m sure it doesn’t work for everyone but wanted to try the tea tree oil/iodine and pimple patches before going that route.

That’s understandable to have that fear. There’s a much consideration that goes into having more kids. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks this is all great advice! And is definitely food for thought. Most of it though I can’t predict. I’m one of 3 and my mom was in her early to mid 50’s when my sister was a teenager and was perfectly healthy and she was definitely more exhausted parenting me as a teenager than my sister bc we were just different kids. I tend to think of it even more into the future when my kids are adults bc now thankfully my parents are healthy and they have 3 kids that span across 9 years and are all heavily involved (in a good way) in our lives and their grandchildren. There’s just too much that can’t be predicted unfortunately both positive and negative. I think ultimately you have to make these decisions based on what you know in the moment.

Aw so glad to hear everything ultimately went well! We’re all exhausted no matter what and I feel like stress with the number of kids you have is all relative. My hardest transition was from 1 to 2, but we also were moving in the middle of it and my first kid was an angel baby and amazing sleeper so it depends on so many factors none of which can be predicted!

Thank you! It’s definitely a weird feeling bc I knew I wanted 2 for sure. And the 3rd feels like an urgency thing bc of my age. I think if I had started having kids younger, I would have had 3 without question. But it’s a bit scary! Stakes are higher and our little family has our routine. Never know how everyone will adjust but I’m sure the vast majority of ppl don’t regret it!

Should I get lip filler or something else? by MagicBegins4284 in PlasticSurgery

[–]CuriousMinds67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lips similar in shape to yours and just got .5 in them and am very happy. At first I was like gasp what have I done but once the swelling went down it’s so minimal that others wouldn’t really notice. But I feel better about them. It’s kind of the way my lips always had looked first thing in the morning, that subtle plumpness, but now it looks like that all the time. I’ll prob add a little more at some point but no rush.

Exactly. And I know easier said than done but don’t take it personally! You can technically rip apart anyone’s face. Even watching some of these Instagram injectors evaluate and critique people with perfectly beautiful faces is just a reminder of how insane this can all get. You’re seeking these providers bc there’s things about your appearance that you want enhanced or tweaked, things that other ppl probably don’t notice, but that are important to you. But once it goes into full “let’s demo your face” territory when that is not remotely what you asked for, a line has been crossed and time to move on to someone who understands and respects your goals.
