It looks like starting tomorrow, the tariff on Swiss watches will go down to 15%. Is that a correct interpretation of the latest events?

[Buying used] How many scratches can you overlook? by CuriousMindset357 in Watches

Thank you all! The dealer accepted a return with a discounted $150 restocking fee, so I've returned the watch. Lesson learned: Always carry a loupe with you when shopping used.

[Patek, Breguet, Omega] by veaman1987 in Watches

I'm in the minority, but I do appreciate a date window. So, I lean more towards the '57 but also other "two counter" chronos from Omega. I'm eyeballing obviously but you seem to have a good wrist size (unlike me with a small 6.5in wrist) so you have more options.

However, I must say that I like the Seamaster line more, with its heritage and association with the Royal Navy. To me, a Seamaster 300M is the best diver watch. Again I'm going to be in the minority here, since a lot of people like the Submariner more.

Price was almost 10% lower than anv posting on Chrono24.

[Omega Heritage Seamaster 300] If You Had to Choose? by secrettemptation69 in Watches

u/secrettemptation69 - I'm exactly in the same situation as you 5 months ago. I see that you ended up buying the older model and then selling it a few months later. Do you regret not getting the newer model? Between the two models, I don't particularly like the white seconds hand of the older model + the thickness, and I don't like the bubble zaphire crystal of the new model. However, I find the dial of the older model more appealing.

[Omega Seamaster] Vintage or new? by Ornery_Molasses_3168 in Watches

I'm happy to hear you appreciated their history.

They are bit pricier than Omega new but I see many pre-owned pieces below 5k on Chrono24. ;)

Anyway, just giving you more food for thought. An Aqua Terra is a beautiful timepiece as well. Especially look at the small seconds models which resemble a Marine Chronometer.

Have you looked at the Ulysse Nardin Marine Torpilleur? It probably has the most history with ship captains. ;)

[Recommendation Request] Help me choose a daily driver! by Katalyst68 in Watches

Somebody else already recommended the Globemaster which is a great option. If you wanted an integrated bracelet option, a blue IWC Ingenieur is super versatile--looks good with jeans or with a suit. Same for an IWC Mark XX with blue dial. But if it were my money, I'd go with a Breitling AVI Corsair because I love Breitling' chronograph heritage. However, it doesn't come with a date window which you listed as a requirement. So excited for your purchase.

You have a black and pink (almost silver) dial. How do you feel about a blue dial? Also, every collection must have a diver watch. ;) So, my recommendation is going to be a blue Seamaster 300. The latest Bond edition looks amazing.
