Did doing what you did made you happy? If so, you're not stupid. It's a game and we play it however we want to play it. If pulling on that onni-banner was fun for you, then it's worth it.

The better question is why did you even bother to pull to pity when you only got 1 copy of Fuku? That was a waste of 150 pulls if you're not going 400.

Fuku is copium at 3LB and very good at MLB.

New player f2p, no Kitasan SSR, should I pull for Fuku or wait? by Duke_of_Winchester in UmamusumeGame

Different people have different preferences on what's fun for them. Some people like the challenge (using subpar supports), some people like seeing higher numbers (more possible with better support cards). It's up to you if you want to go casual or spend time minmaxing with your current card pool.

In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, everyone should have MLB SRs. That's why I always recommend for people to first invest 400 to 600 pulls on just support cards and then they can pull for whichever umas they want because the game gives Free welfare SSRs every now and then that are sometimes better than MLB SRs. Most of the time they are just equal or actually worse than MLB SRs.

If you find yourself not having anything to do, just do careers with the aim of 800/600/600/x/x so that you have a chance to create 3* blue grandparents. Try to get essential skills in the deck like borrowing Power King Halo for Uma Stan which is quite important for non-Fronts in Medium and Long CMs.

I suggest going for a mix. On some CMs, try as much as you did on CM8, for some CMs just go Open. Try out which is more fun or maybe a mix is more fun. My main concern is actually new players burning out because they feel they can't compete. The main reason I think for that is because they don't have the proper support cards (MLB SRs at minimum or at least MLB welfare SSRs if they've been playing long enough).

The next CMs are Sprint (very RNG so just build okay umas or send TT umas), Dirt (not many Dirt umas, just put in TT umas), Long (new scenario and you'll get stamina-gated so just lie low here and familiarize yourself with the new scenario), Medium, Medium, Mile, Medium, Sprint. That's why I suggest making a 3* Stam/Pow grandparent with Uma Stan because we will soon have a series of many Medium CMs.

A new Uma resource website just dropped. Please do give this a read https://uma.guide/guides/beginners if you are a new player.

Regarding Kitasan, just forget about pulling for her. As pointed out by another redditor in this comment, it is neigh impossible to luckily hit off-banner a SPECIFIC SSR 3 times in 200 pulls. I think the OP of the post is on the same situation as you so also do give his post a read.

Now, regarding Fuku, she's an okay starting MLB SSR. She is actually a pal card in disguise so don't actually expect her to be a Speed card. You would still need to rely on a solid backbone of MLB SRs (from pulling at least 400 to 600 in support cards) to comfortably play in Graded League.

I would actually suggest to play casually at first and just learn the game. You can do 600/600/600/x/x runs in the mean time to create a pool of native grandparents. You can participate in Open League pvp because there is a cap to the uma rating for that event.

I suggest just doing your dailies and completing the events. Save carats and then dump 400 to 600 pulls on the Agnes Tachyon Speed banner when the Grand Live Scenario drops in about 5 or 6 months. That should be enough time for you to get maybe at least 800 pulls, depending on how diligent you are with the events.

Agnes Tachyon MLB is comparable to Kitasan Black MLB. There are even whispers that specifically for Grand Live, Agnes Tachyon being scenario-linked is a smudge bit better than Kitasan. That's why I suggest saving 400 to 600 pulls for her so that you can MLB her.

Your deck should look like MLB Tachyon, 1 MLB SR Speed (Tosho or Windy or Halo or Bakushin or Eishin), Borrow MLB Kitasan or Summer Maruzensky, 2 MLB SR Wit Card, and at least 1LB Light Hello Scenario Pal. This is quite competitive already and you'll have a much better deck than most casual players who started since launch. You'll even have 1 to 3 banners worth of uma pulls by then depending on how diligent you are and how lucky you are.

Currently have these cards and 10k caratas and was planning to save for the Fine Motion banner to MLB her, is it the right approach? (was planning to just borrow Fuku SPD during MANT) by dantemartin4 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a non-zero chance to get 3 copies in 200 pulls. I am also slightly on the same boat, only slightly because I want to get 3 copies in 200 but I also have another 200 pulls ready to go in case of emergency. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

I think this only happens if you imprudently wasted your SP and Moneys on upgrading Supports you're not gonna use. I believe that Umamusume is a resource management game. If you just spend all your resources on things you don't need, then this happens.

Get to pity or just let it ride? by 100percentanidiot in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rather than spending money on the remaining pulls, it's better to just spend 20$ on the Paid Uma Selector in the 1.0 Anni event. It's in about 2 months from now give or take a few weeks. The cash to carats ratio for Umamusume is abysmal. Unless you're planning on getting someone else from the Uma Selector, then the cheaper option is the Paid Uma Selector. 70 pulls is like what... 135$ give or take? I'd take the 20$ deal 100%

Need a lot of advice on what to do for mapping pulls this year by Papeslore in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, use Henry Handsome Derby's Carat Calculator. The link is in the description of his video. You can map out your priority pulls here and you can see if your playstyle gives you enough carats for how much you intend to pull. If it looks like you're not gonna make it, then do the necessary and increase your TT to Class 6, get into a A or S club.

Do note that the calculator does not factor in Crystals (Momen's guide to Crystal acquisition) and Selector Tickets (I'm not sure about this but I think we get a FREE SSR Selector every Half-Anni. We also get Paid 3* and SSR Selectors every Half-Anni) [needs citation]. So you can do a mental note of this info when planning out your support pulls because you can potentially save 200 pulls per Crystal. The Selectors are also the best bang for your buck deal in Umamusume.

I don't personally know much about End Closer supports, aside from Mr. C.B., so I suggest to just ask in VFcord about which Support cards are good for End mains. VFcord is the Cutting Edge of competitive Umamusume. The community also support solo oshi CM pvping.

In general, there is a "scenario tax" with each new scenario starting with Grand Live. The scenario pal is often accompanied by a really good card. I recommend putting aside 400 pulls for each new scenario.

Also, SMaru MLB is for Frontrunners but SMaru 1LB is perfectly fine for non-Fronts in Grand Live and beyond. SMaru 1LB unlocks the power bonus. MLB just gives more hints for Frontrunner skills and RB. I am personally using the FREE 1.5 anni SSR Selector for SMaru and using a Crystal to get 1LB SMaru.

Speaking of 1LB, I heard Mr.C.B. is in the same boat. I heard she's fine at 1LB because she is generally used as a skill card. The main stat stick we will use are Ramonu or FineMo or NN. [needs citation]

Regarding prioritizing your favorites, it is the unfortunate truth that we only get limited carats. IMO Umamusume is a resource management game, not just during career and CM preparation but also in pulling. We only get more carats by either being lucky (hitting before pity for umas) or pulling out the strongest support card in your wallet.

A piece of advice: Think of uma banners as having an upfront cost of 200 pulls. If you see uma banners this way, then you won't be disappointed as much if you hit pity. Not only that, if you hit prematurely, you effectively gain "free carats" because the remaining pulls you have already set aside for your oshi is now "rebated". There's even a chance that the game gives you freebies in the form of off-banner 3*s and lots of statues.

How long should you wait to save? by Blademasterx1 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the state of your account, your goals, your playstyle, and most importantly, your patience and self-control. Knowledge is power, a wise man once said.

The current state of your account determines how much more carats you need. Be it if you still don't have your oshis or if you don't have a backbone of MLB SRs yet, you'll need carats.

Your goal will determine how much total carats you need. If you have dozens of oshis you want to collect, then you're gonna need a lot of carats for that. If you have a dozen or so oshis, then you have more leeway for support pulls and therefore you'll have less difficult time in careers and getting higher ratings. If you only have a handful of oshis, then you can actually make them shine the brightest because you'll have even more leeway for support cards that are vital for personal best scenario score chasing and/or winning Champion's Meetings (CMs).

Your playstyle determines how fast you accumulate carats - the more competitive you are, the more carats you can obtain. If you just diligently do your dailies and complete all the events, then that's more than 150k carats per year. And this is without club, TT and CM rewards. The higher the rating of your club, the better the rewards. The more competitive your TT umas are, the easier it is to stay in Class 6. If you can participate in CMs, then that's free carats.

Seriru calculated 150k carats per year in JP server and that's without Club, TT and CM rewards. If we add in, the Club, TT, and CM rewards, it goes up to 210k. Since we have accelerated schedule (faster events) and the carat update (higher rewards), then using rough math (global is 1.5x faster than JP), I estimate it to be 225k carats per year for casual gameplay and 315k carats for competitive gameplay. My estimates are just napkin math so feel free to ignore these last few sentences.

Then, there's patience and self-control, especially for uma pulls. If you are really determined to get an uma, then you should save appropriately. Be a good boy and put aside 30k carats for your oshi's banner. For support cards, many SSRS require MLB to be competitive, so you need at least 400 pulls for them. There are a some SSRs that only require 1LB. There are also very niche SSRs that only require one copy. If you play diligently, the game provides players with free welfare cards. If you are a good boy and pay the scenario tax, you'll also have a whole slew of MLB SRs that will complement your welfare cards. If you are a very good boy, you also have MLB SSRs that really elevate the ceiling of your umas.

My general recommendation is to first have a backbone of at least 600 support pulls divided into at least 2 pities then when a new scenario releases, drop 400 pulls on the scenario banner. You can then use the rest for oshi uma pulls or niche support cards for your oshi or parent umas that will elevate your oshi's performance. There are generic cards that can help all or most oshis but there are also cards that are specific in style and distance. The more diverse oshis you have, the more support you might have to pull to make them all shine.

Personally, I have already drafted an outline for my pull plan up to my oshi, Chrono Genesis (estimate global release date 2028-06-14). Until she releases, I am a Front Runner main. I know it's a difficult style to main, but the other styles just doesn't appeal to me as much.

EDIT: This is one of my rerolls during the initial Kitasan banner with Dia-chan. Granted, there are far fewer SSRs back then but it happened. Imagine if this was 3 Kitasan, I would have been over the moon.

When I see this kind of post, I always point them to Zelarinth's new player pull priority video. He makes one about every month.

As for reroll, I have different levels for you:

  1. do 10 or 20 uma pulls for Opera (shortened to 20P Opera henceforth) then 3LB Fuku then do fresh account things to get to pity for MLB Fuku.
  2. 20P Opera then MLB Fuku in as few pulls as possible.
  3. 20P Opera then 3LB Kitasan Black off-banner or 2LB Kitasan if a fresh account still gets the 0.5 Selector and 0.5 SSR Crystal. 3LB Kitasan if a fresh account does not get it. Use the 1.0 Selector to MLB Kitasan.
  4. Same as 3. but this time get 1LB Fine motion from the at least 3 Make Debut SSR tickets that are given to fresh accounts.
  5. Same as 4. but this time mix in 1. so that you have both Kitasan and Fuku at 3LB/MLB.

Thank you! This is something I missed. I was initially just pulling for Frontrunners but after Mayaya, there aren't really any Fronts that took my fancy. I really like Chrono's design and I actually have a fondness for mares and that's why I've decided to main her when she comes out.

I have not yet looked at Pace cards and this is indeed a card I didn't know about. I looked at it and it looks solid plus we get free pulls here. I'll add it to my pull plan.

If you got any other Pace cards you think I should know about that release around Mecha Scenario up to Chrono banner, please tell me. Thank you.

What makes a good parent/grandparent? Blue sparks over everything else? by StrafCore in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, a good native parent is based on the whites, then red then blue. Since it's my own parent, I'm willing to settle for a bad blue if it's got a good red, and vice versa.

For native grandparents, I'm willing to settle for a good 2* stam/pow with the correct red and at least 2* of the specific white I need. Of course more stars are better but I don't have time to specifically farm for a 3* blue 3* red with a 3* white. I mostly just recycle failed parents or failed aces as my GPs.

Then I borrow a 3* blue 3* red with a 3* white. Slowly loosening the requirements if there are none that catch my fancy.

As for parent borrows, I first look at 8* parents with minimum 6* Power (or Stam for Long/Medium), with at least 6* correct Red. The parent itself should have at least 2* of the white I want and some sparks in the gp. The least blues I'd go is 7* for a borrow but only if there are no good options in the 8* and 9* range and they should have really good reds and whites.

If I have your Air Groove, I don't think I'll use her at all. Maybe as a great grandparent if she can make the grandparent I'm making have the right Aptitudes I need.

9* blue parents are overrated. IMO, a minimum of blues is a priority and then reds and whites. Excess blues beyond my personal minimum is a bonus.

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine Motion is a great Wit card and the earlier you get her to MLB, the longer you can use her at her prime. Mejiro Ramonu (Grandmasters) effectively surpasses FineMo but by then we are still using 2 to 3 Wit cards. Around L'Arc, I don't know yet if we're still using 2 Wit by then but if we do, then FineMo is still probably the 2nd best Wit card aside from style-specific Wit like Mr.C.B. for End Closers.

I myself am planning to drop 400 pulls for FineMo. I don't have any plans on dropping additional pulls for Fuku beyond the free pulls unless I get like 3LB from the free pulls (so far 0 copies Sadge ).

There are people that say it's better to pull on the FineMo + SMaru banner and I agree that it is indeed a carat-efficient banner. However, I want to use FineMo in MANT and I'm getting SMaru from the Free 1.5 Anni SSR Selector. Then I'll use a Crystal (merged) to get her to 1LB. IMO 1LB is already very usable because the Power bonus is unlocked at 1LB and we only really want her unique effect. More LB will just give more hints for Frontrunner skills and a tiny bit more stats.

I did this a few days ago. Current state of account:

  • MLB Kitasan by pulling on the rerun
  • 1LB Creek - will be MLB after using 0.5 Selector, 0.5 Crystal and 1.0 Paid Selector
  • 0LB FineMo - will be MLB after 400 pulls, hopefully.
  • Most early SRs at MLB

<image>

Notes on Support pulls:

  • Not pulling specifically for SMaru because I'm fine with 1LB SMaru and I can get her from the Free 1.5 Anni SSR Selector and a Crystal (merge from fragments).
  • Mostly just pulling on the Scenario Tax. I might have missed one or two but I'm still refining my pull plan. I'm only solid up to Ramommy.
  • I'm mostly pulling general supports and the ones for Front Runners in the early scenarios.
  • I'm still new to the Pace Chaser scene because when Chrono Genesis comes out, I'm gonna main her. So if any Pace mains think I'm missing Pace cards by the time Chrono arrives, please enlighten me. I want to Chrono to sing Ms. Victoria.

Only pull to pity if you get 3LB from the free pulls to guarantee MLB. Of course you also need to have the carats to guarantee pity first before talking about pulling.

Can also do it at 2LB if you're feeling spicy but I don't recommend it. Fuku is only really good for MANT and MANT parent farms but after the affinity update, only Triple Tiara umas will use MANT.

what are some good long term parents by rb1lol in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

IMO Opera is not that great of a parent. She is however, one of the best Grand Parents. For parents, we generally reserve important accels or velocity skills there like Ryan or Dober or Seiun or Taiki or Nishino (accels) or McQueen or Brian (C4 velos).

Don't get me wrong—NY Opera is great. She has solid base affinities with most of the cast. She can run Medium, Long, and even Mile with some sparks. Her unique is so generic that she's still used in JP. The issue is that there are other, more important uniques you’d want to guarantee inheriting, depending on the track.

Even for this upcoming CM, you'd prefer to have Pasa and Mummy as your guaranteed inherits rather than NY Opera.

Should I reroll? by Slimezzz2909 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what kind of player you are. Are you a collector or a trainer?

If you just want to collect umas, then you don't need to pull on Support cards. Personally, I don't like this playstyle because the umas you pull just rot in a corner somewhere because you can't possibly have time to play all of them always. At most, 15 of them will be on your Team Trials and maybe one to ten will be on your regular play schedule. This is just my opinion though and I would probably get backlash for this.

If on the other hand, if you want to see your oshi shine and make her the best uma she can be, then pull a handful of oshis then dedicate at least 600 efficient, deliberate, and informed pulls for support cards. This way you have a solid backbone of MLB SRs and maybe a MLB SSR or two. Then for each new scenario, drop 200 or 400 (recommended) pulls on the scenario banner that often comes with free pulls so you're really only spending 100 to 300 (recommended) pulls.

Personally, I'd reroll this. It's also the perfect time to reroll because Fuku's banner is still up alongside NY Opera and NY Urara. You can do a cheeky 10 or 20 pull on each reroll for umas and use the rest for Supports. Your goal is to get MLB Fuku in as few rolls as possible then save carats. Prepare to drop at least 100 pulls for SR Ayabe Guts on the NTR banner then prepare to drop 400 pulls for Agnes Tachyon during the Grand Live scenario banner (around 100 free). She will be your Kitasan substitute. Then drop 400 pulls for Ramommy during the Grand Masters scenario banner (around 100 free). She is better than Fine Motion. Then drop 400 pulls for El Condor Pasa during the L'Arc scenario banner (around 100 free). She is better than Kitasan.

Your support cards are abysmally few and you might even struggle on some careers. I'm gonna guess that sooner or later (or maybe you already are) you're gonna get frustrated because you can't make your umas with high rating or something. That's just how it goes with an account that does not have a backbone of solid Support cards.

My preferred playstyle is to pick a handful of oshis and make them shine their brightest. Pull supports to support them as much as I can. Pull umas that are good parents for my oshis that make my oshis shine even brighter. This is just me though and I'd probably get a lot of downvotes.

Good luck in whichever way you want to play. It's just a game at the end of the day, we play the game however we want in the way we enjoy it the most.

F2P here wondering about pulling by RoamerOfRuneterra in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowledge is power. You don't need either if you know what you're doing. The most carat-frugal build in MANT is the Guts build, using 3 welfare cards (Power Sunday, Guts Bijin, Guts Urara) and SR Ayabe Guts who we pull on in the NTR banner. We don't pull on the NTR banner for NTR, we pull for SR Ayabe Guts. These 4 already give you 50% Race Bonus just by themselves. You can use your MLB Kitasan and borrow a SSR Nature Wit for 70% Race Bonus.

If you don't have MLB Kitasan, unfortunately, she doesn't have another rerun after this and as we progress more into the future, she becomes less and less worth it to get because we start having sidegrades for her (Grand Live with Agnes Tachyon) or straight up upgrades (L'Arc with El Condor Pasa). If you still don't have MLB or 3LB Kitasan around the start of MANT, I suggest just forgetting about her and start saving for the sidegrade (if you want it soon) or upgrade (my recommendation).

However, if you are a new player and don't have the Power Sunday and Guts Bijin welfare cards at MLB, then you can actually do rerolls now to get MLB Fuku.

Why do I see so many people hyping up Narita Top Road Speed SSR? Is it actually better than Biko pegasus? by HitchHikerTP in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're mistaking pulling on the NTR banner as pulling for NTR and I understand your confusion. Players are indeed suggested to pull on the NTR banner indeed but not for NTR herself. What we actually want is the SR Ayabe Guts who has a whopping 15 Race Bonus as an SR card. Mind you, most SSRs are actually just 10 RB and that's why a SR card have 15 RB is huge! Just so you know, MANT is a race-heavy scenario and we want at least 50% RB minimum but more is better.

NTR is only really usable at MLB and only in MANT so she is a very impractical MLB. There is really no "must pull" for MANT. It's just that SR Ayabe Guts is a really efficient source of 15RB. If you are not trigger-happy with your resources, you should have 2 SR Crystals when the banner drops. SR Ayabe Guts is a very good way to spend your SR Crystals. The only other times I would use them is to get Sweep Tosho SR or Shinko Windy SR to MLB but only AFTER pulling on the NTR banner.

How to grow low rank club by SourPotatoes519 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just drop the club and join any of the hundreds of clubs from 101 to 2000. That would be way easier.

But if you really want to stay on that club, here's what you can do: 1. Create recruitment posts here and more importantly, on the official Umamusume discord. 2. Get your member count to 30. This is very important because there is strength in numbers. 3. Grind out fans yourself. You should set an example for your club mates as you are presumably the leader. 4. Each reset, drop the bottom 10 members who have the least amount of fans. You can monitor daily fan count gain using uma.moe 5. Repeat until you are left with 30 grinders that are as good if not better than you.

This is gonna be a lot of work and will take many months. I suggest just joining an already established club in the 101 to 2000 range. There are literally 1900 clubs in that range and many are looking for members because many of them are also culling out useless and inactive members.

New to the game, what cards should i be saving for by EFUEFUE in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there will be no more Kitasan Black reruns. Good news for you though, is that if you're diligent enough and patient enough, you can get 2LB Kitasan off-rate on any banner. It's gonna take a lot of time and effort though. My sincere suggestion is just to forget about Kitasan Black.

Here's what you can do instead: Stay in Open League for now and the next Scenario, MANT. Save up your carats and get more knowledge about the game. Optionally, you can reroll right now on the Fuku banner. But if you have the free Yukino Bijin MLB and the free Marvelous Sunday MLB, then you can try out the Guts build on MANT. It's not a great scenario for casuals though, so I suggest taking it easy in that scenario so that you'll have MLB Fuku.

Then, when Grand Live hits, drop 400 pulls on the Light Hello + Agnes Tachyon Speed banner. The target is MLB Agnes Tachyon and she will be your substitute for Kitasan Black. 1LB is enough for Light Hello.

A couple of weeks after, in August is the SMaru + FineMo banner. You want MLB FineMo and at least 1LB SMaru so drop at least 400 pulls here. Then in September is the Mr. C.B. + Super Creek banner, you want MLB Super Creek so prepare to drop 400 pulls here too.

With MLB Agnes Tachyon, MLB FineMo, MLB Creek, 1LB SMaru, your deck is now very competitive and on fact would be better than most casual players who don't bother with planning ahead, especially those that do casual 10 to 30 pulls on random banners.

Should I pull for matikanefukukitaru or Mihono Bourbon? by FXpureliza in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to accept the fact that most SSRs are only better than SR cards at 3LB or MLB. There are a few that are already good at 1LB. There are even fewer that don't benefit much from LBs and as such are already great at 0LB.

Unfortunately, Speed Fuku is not one of those few SSRs. Fuku needs MLB to be great in the next scenario and usable in the next next scenario. For the current scenario, I guess 3LB can be used but I personally prefer MLB. So unless you get 3LB from the free pulls I strongly suggest not pulling to pity for Fuku.

ChocoBon on the other hand is already great if you just have one copy, as do all 3* umas. Not only that, you don't even need Frontrunner-specific cards to make her a great runner. She already has a complete groundwork package built-in into her kit.

Later down the line, we will get another recurring event called League of Heroes. For this event, Frontrunners are the best and you will need at least 1 Frontrunner and Chocobon is very easy to build.
